I don't know if dragon can go through all the hate in todays metagame. But if your a good dragon player or it depends on how you build your deck, you can go around the hate.

The question posed by the topic title is an excellent question, and certainly worth addressing. However, your post itself is not much longer than the title. This post is not nearly detailed enough to be a valid post here on The Mana Drain. I'd appreciate it if you would fill in the topic and add details. Good starting posts tend to be measured in paragraphs and not sentences. In particular: What hate do you have in mind? How does Dragon go around hate? What explains Dragon's lack of recent Top Eight performances? In your experience, how does the hate present in the metagame impact Dragon directly -- how do the matches involving hate play out? Please tell us about your experiences with Dragon, playing through hate. Any suggestions on how to make Dragon push past hate would also be great.

Thanks for the info.  I didn't know that; I'm just new to playing magic.  I started almost two years ago.  I've been playing dragon since I started playing magic; thanks for the info.

Dragon Combo was one of the fastest combo decks in vintage compared to other combo decks, for example, pitch long.  It is so hard to win in turn one, two, or three if you don't have the winning hand.  I hope DCI won't change anything about this deck; dragon was so fun to play, but there is a lot of hate right now in the metagame.  In order to protect your graveyard you could use ground seal or use 5c dragon instead of the traditional build.  Dragon combo decks were also hard to pilot.  Dragon was more efficient when it came to building its combo.

You can use Lightning Bolt instead of ancestral recall.....put some red mana sources....discard lightning bolt..make sure that you have eternal witness in your graveyard...and another animate dead or any other reanimation spell.....start the loop by animating dragon....target eternal witness instead of dragon....cast another reanimation spell....and then enchant the dragon.....cast lightning bolt.....and then bring it back with eternal W. and start the loop again....it's much more easy than ancestral recall......using lightning bolt you can do it for like 7 times.

Dredging up a 3 month old topic on a rules forum to impart strategy advice seems like a poor decision.
