1  Eternal Formats / Creative / Does anyone remember... on: March 22, 2004, 07:29:49 pm
Just out of curiousity, this is a longshot but does anyone remember MTG on Aol?  With the message boards, factions, and "wars"

If I remember correctly, factions such as the "Bloodhounds" and the "Alliance" were around.

Just curious to see if any of you guys were still in the game.

Hey,

Well, I think this is my first post on this site.  I'm Tim and am currently a freshman at Emory down in Atlanta (but live in MD...anyone from Maryland?).  Magic wise, I've been playing since 4th Edition but stopped when Stronghold and Exodus came out...so its really been awhile.  But I'm thinking of trying to get back into it...and don't particularly care for T2 (can't keep up with the format).  So i'm left with T1.  The only problem is none of my friends here play it (or have ever played it) so that leaves me with few options...

I've been around Magic-League.com to look for T1 games but it seems everyone is playing draft or T2 these days.  So I guess TheManaDrain is my last option to find some T1 games...is anyone interested in playtesting?  Though I completely missed the revision on the new rules...(still trying to read up on the rules for the Stack) I feel that I'm a pretty solid player.  I'm not quite sure though because I can only compare myself to the games I get on Magic-League.

Deck wise, I am a total budget player (suiblack, fish, R/G Beatz, Stompy, Sligh)

Let me know if anyone wants to get some games in...I promise to be competitive.

3  Eternal Formats / Creative / Playtest Group? on: January 24, 2004, 05:17:47 pm
Hey,

Well, I just recently got back into magic...after a 5 year hiatus (was doing some cleaning before college...found my old cards...got too sentimental to sell..etc..etc....)  Seeing as how all my cards are now only allowed in T1, I decided to try and break into this format.  I realize now that theres only one problem.  None of my friends here (college) play nor have even heard of the game.  Also, since I have no access to a car in college...trying to find local card shops isn't a viable option. So....I was wondering if there was anyone out there interested in forming an apprentice playtest group?  I'm looking to shake off the rust by the summer so I can go back home (Maryland) and be reasonably competitive in tournaments.

Contact me if interested.

Thanks!

Tim
