One more reason for having the instant factor is so you can sneak something up on your opponent, and I wanted to stick with most other pitch cards that are instants do, they have the element of suprise.
Here is one more Spectrum Charge card:

You should remove the "any time you could play an instant" part of this ability. There's no reason for it. Most of the cards you made are instants anyway.
While it does take up space its probably ment to be there. Especially since when you use a spectrum to shine light through, it doesn't happen over a time span, its instantanious thus my ability is ment to be an instantanious effect if given "light".

How does this interact with filter lands?
4  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: New Keyword (56K Warning) on: January 09, 2007, 11:27:58 am
What happens when I want to pitch Boros Recruit to Spectral Lightning?
it allowes you to pay for one mana symbol or the other, in that case you still have to pay either symbol or by pitching another card with either symbol in the casting cost.

I have updated the wording so perhaps it is more understandable.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / New Keyword (56K Warning) on: January 09, 2007, 12:55:34 am
I’m sure we are all tired of hearing of new keywords every set, however I am going to bore your more…
My keyword is called Spectrum charge, a new mechanic that allows you to cast cetin spells as instants and without paying mana for them. Sounds like pitch right? Not so, as with my “pitch” cards you not only have to pitch the right color you may have to pitch multiple cards. Well I will let the card speak for its self, here is my first Spectrum Charged card:

As you can see from the wording it requires 1  color card to be pitched, its ok for in some situations were you are trying to get rid of that Stasis with Kismet out.
Without further ado here is the second possibility of the mechanic:

Here it gets tricky. As now you need to pitch two different colors to feed the cost or pay the 2  and for it. Here is where this mechanic gets interesting, you can either pitch a red card with 1  or more  in the casting cost and white card with 1  or more  in its casting cost. However you can do something were you meld the colors, you can pitch something like Lightning Helix to pay both color costs.
Originally I wanted this to be a mechanic that only artifacts would use because I wanted a way you can splash color with playing artifacts, here is one example:

The same idea fits this Spectrum Charge cost as the last card, you can either pitch a card that has 1  or more  in its casting cost and a card that has 1 or more  in its casting cost to pay for it or something that has both mana symbols.
Here is one more twist on the mechanic:

Now in this you are required to pitch not one  mana symbol but 2 so you pitch something like Distress to this to pay both costs or pitch two duress.
Questions comments are greatly appreciated please let me know if I should update the reminder text.

This is a joke right? Theres no contest. Ok lets assume that somehow a dinosaur gets to a jedi without him/her noticing, lets also assume that the dino is large enough to consume the jedi. Even if that senario existed there is no way in hell that the dinosaur would be fast enough to match the jedi's reflexes not to mention that they have a weapon (lightsabor) that can literally spaghettify the creature without even breaking a sweat, oh yeah did I mention that he can almost make the dino into a puppet with its walnut sized brain using the force?
Jedi beat Dinosaurs hands down!
8  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / What Book Would You Base a Set off? on: December 23, 2006, 03:23:05 pm
I personally love Dante's Inferno. Between all the circles of hell and sins being punished, you could come up with some pretty interesting cards. Especially land and enchantments. One down side is that it does have that Christian sentement that would not attract some people.
9  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: As if we need more weenies on: December 20, 2006, 10:46:02 pm
Isn't this basically Recover, but better?
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's a very near miss.
Well almost accept that you play the card at the cost of a land, and doesnt always involve a creature going to the grave for it to trigger.
10  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / As if we need more weenies on: December 17, 2006, 10:07:06 pm
Lion Pride

2/1
Aftershock- whenever you play a creature you may sacrifice a plains, if you do you may return Lion Pride from your graveyard to play. Play this ability only if Lion Pride is in your graveyard.

This is less about the weenie aspect and more about the aftershock mechanic.
To me bringing things back from the grave is very satisifing, and provides some amount of assurence that you wont aloways be screwed in topdeck mode, so I decided to go about creating a mechanic that can do just that without being super broken but not completely stupid. I have been working on the ability for the other colors but the blue one seems to be the toughest. so far this is the blue instant:

Drouze

Instant
As an additional cost to play Drouze remove two cards other than Drouze in your graveyard from the game.
Counter target spell unless its controller pays
Threshold- Instead counter target spell.
Aftershock- Whenever you play an instant you may pay 3 life and sacrifice an island, if you do you may play this card from your graveyard as if it was in your hand without paying its mana cost. Play this ability only if Drouze is in your graveyard.

The drawback of sacrificing one of the native color producer of the spell is very critical, almost the same idea with pitch cards. I created some spells to have more of a drawback because of their possible abuse. At the casting level I dident want these to be very good thus making them more useful from the grave.

Questions, comments are greatly welcome.

12  Vintage Community Discussion / Rules Q&A / Re: When do you stifle mana drain? on: December 04, 2006, 12:18:13 am
Well then since, or at least Im pretty sure, Lions Eye Diamond can only be played as an instant can its ability be countered?

No Chuck Norris? Anyway I like the Wrath of Cats, Destroy all your base!
14  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Favorite Keyword Ability. on: December 02, 2006, 07:29:23 pm
My personal favorite ability is Double Strike.
Why, there is nothing more satisfing in Magic than doubling up, two cards from Shadow Mage Infiltrator sac 3/4 of your permanents from Rakdos The Defiler, if only there where more ways to do it the only effective ways I know of are Psychotic Fury and Fireshrieker.
15  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Which One Card Changed Your Magic Life The Most? on: December 02, 2006, 07:21:06 pm
Tolarian Academy

Reason: is there any other reason? Just the name envokes fear in those who had to put up with it for its short ride in standard and other formats.
When I started playing Magic I came in at the start of Urza's Saga and I saw so many decks abusing that card so much, it became a prostitute of a sort, and I never wanted to look back at magic again if they did not do something about that broken piece of garbage.
So in conclusion Tolarian Academy=Quitting magic.
16  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: New Set on: November 29, 2006, 12:06:08 am
That is maybe a little more understandable.
17  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: New Set on: November 25, 2006, 03:40:23 pm

19  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Card keep safe suggestions on: November 25, 2006, 03:05:37 pm
I have been playing magic since middle school, and on to my current junior year and through the years I have had several cards/decks stolen probably accumulating to well over $1000 so I am just wondering what are suggestions anyone may have for a carrying case or ways to keep people out of your stuff. Your suggestions are much appreciated.
