Greater Gargadon is so much better than Spawning Pit. The Oath player can just bounce Pit eot and then activate Orchard and then you're screwed because you have no pressure on them since you haven't been playing creatures.

Magus of the Moon trumps Blood Moon, especially when your deck is running Thorns and Sword of Fire/Ice.

Umm if thats dirrected ay my list... I already run 4 magi - the 2 blood moons are moon effect #5 and #6.

Didn't notice the Magi in the original list since they aren't added in with the creatures, but rather lock pieces.

I fail to see your logic in saying Top is a better opening than Duress/Thoughtseize when going into the match blind and not knowing what you're up against.

TheDeadMan has the right idea in getting rid of the white splash all together. But, instead of +4 Voidmage, I'd suggest +4 Duress/Thoughtseize combination. Proactive disruption always seems to do better instead of having to wait for your opponent to do something.

If it would be amazing as a 4-of, it would be played as a 1-of.

If we go by this logic, how come we never saw a singleton gush being played?
7  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: 0 creature Oath Idea on: February 17, 2008, 08:19:19 pm
After you Oath up your entire deck, there's still the problem of the draw step which would kill you immediately not letting you use Will. Remember to add Krosan Reclamation to the deck and then you don't even have to have Will in hand first.

I would cut the CoV before Rebuild if you're adding in Tinker/DSC.

Matron definately dominates over Recruiter when no Food Chain is being run. Matron gets the card NOW which is what you want. Recruiter is good at setting up, but why set up when you can just get the goblin then? Even if say somehow you go into topdeck mode, I would much rather rip a Matron for Ringleader/Piledriver than draw a Recruiter.

@RockLee
I fail to see how you feel Chain and Tyrant override eachother. You chain your own stuff (ie. moxen, oath, etc) and use Tyrant's ability to bounce one of your opponents permanents, but never targetting their stuff directly with Chain. Then replay everything you bounced to clear their board hopefully.

Instead of Fire Imp, have you tried Ghitu Slinger? It kills itself if needed with it's echo cost so it can more easily be recurred with Oath, and can target your opponent if they don't have any creatures on the board.

The deck should be bringing out 4 dreadnoughts and a meddling mage with flash. Meddling Mage named on Echoing Truth since the deadnoughts are still prone to bounce.
13  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Force of Will vs. Black Lotus on: April 12, 2007, 10:22:23 am
On several occasions I've actually baited an opponent by not dropping a land and leading out with the lotus, with the intention of it getting forced so I can drop a bomb later (with an unprotected hand). I wouldn't consider auto forcing the lotus without serious consideration. My opinion is that forcing the lotus on turn 1 is one of the more intuitive plays in Magic.

I've done this plenty of times also. Learning to win without needing the Lotus is something that takes time and I often play Lotus as bait recently.

I know that this card is probably extremely narrow, but I thought I would suggest it anyways.

Bloodfire Dwarf.  R

Creature -Dwarf;  1/1

R: Sacrifice Bloodfire Dwarf:  Do 1 Damage to each creature without flying.

It kills all of their empty tokens.  It kills Kataki.  It kills opposing Welders and Shamans.  And it can attack for one.

Don't forget, it dodges Duress also.

I've been playing MDG and Ritual Gifts a lot lately and must say that Tabernacle is what I'm most afraid of. Ensnaring Bridge or Caltrops aren't even solutions to EtW since it's purpose is to just make most of your lock pieces null and void. Tabernacle really puts a damper on the EtW stall route.

Mishra's Factory pretty much becomes your kill condition after a resolved Nether Void.
17  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Ritual Gifts on: February 17, 2007, 01:34:30 pm
I really don't see the purpose of Time Walk in this type of Gifts. Without the inclusion of Collosus or Empty the Warrens maindeck, I merely see Time Walk as drawing 1 card. Does anyone else think something along the lines of Fact Or Fiction would better fit it's spot?
