410.12 This rule is being created to cover triggered abilities that trigger when a player loses the game. (They trigger when a player concedes and when a judge awards a player a game loss, as well as when a player loses for an in-game reason.) [/quote]
It's probably for Blood Tyrant (see Conflux spoilers), which as an effect that triggers "whenever a player loses the game." It would be relevant in 2-Headed Giant.

Looks like a registered a long time ago but never introduced myself or posted very much. So, hello everybody. It's interesting to read this thread and see the various backgrounds we all come from.
I first started playing when Revised came out, and I was really into the game during the Ice Age/Mirage era. Ice Age is still my favorite set, more for nostalgia and art more than playability of course. I'm extremely thankful to have pack-scored 3 Forces from Alliances boosters, without them I don't think I'd have the same interest in Eternal formats. The highlight of that early career was winning a local tournament with my R/G Beats deck, leaning heavily on Hammer of Bogardan. That was at The Game Cave in Charlottesville, VA... which hasn't been around for a very long time so I doubt anybody's heard of it. When Wizards implemented their cunning plan to systematically obsolete all the cards I had carefully collected (aka Type 2 and the block rotation system), I realized the incoming scam and quit in disgust so I could waste my money on other hobbies. But thank goodness I didn't sell all my cards, because years later, when I got to college, I discovered that some friends still played Magic. I remember buying some Legions and Scourge boosters but the cards didn't really hook me. I was impressed by Ravnica and Time Spiral though, and I've been sucked back in since then. Nonetheless, I'll always be an Eternal player at heart, as I have no interest in trying to keep up with Standard.
I'm mostly a casual player, but I've learned a ton about strategy and theory from reading forums like this.

Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Budget Blue - And How to Join Vintage.

regarding fetchlands: as a "budget player" (one who can't justify splurging on a playset of polluted deltas), I have found that the mirage fetchlands (bad river for UB, flood plain for UW) generally work better for me than terramorphic expanse. Although the fetch comes into play tapped, the land you get does not, unlike terramorphic. This often works out just fine, because you don't always need or want to crack the fetch immediately (i.e., waiting for a brainstorm). You can go 1st turn tapped fetch, 2nd turn island, and represent UU if you need it, or if not, then brainstorm and reshuffle on your opponent's EOT. You cannot do this with terramorphic. Also, the mirage fetchlands search for basic land types, like the onslaught ones do, so as your budget deck expands into a second color you can seamlessly incorporate dual lands that can be fetched.
Just a hint for cheapos like me.

I think you should keep the deck mono-black for consistency's sake. Proactive hand disruption (duress, therapy, maybe thoughtseize) is going to be almost as good and serve a similar function as Forces of Will, that is, protecting your combo. Furthermore, you would have to make the deck mostly blue to support FoW. On the other hand, blue would give you some semblance of a real draw engine, with cards like Deep Analysis and Careful study.

Posts are broken in Mac OS X Safari and Omniweb. Every post longer than a line is truncated, with a tiny scroll box that's too small to actually use. Strangely, the full posts display fine in the Topic Summary, such as the one I see below this reply box.
Now I can't even lurk...

I would just like to recommend Sage of Epityr for a deck like this. He is another 1-drop, and gives recurrable card selection if you can bounce it (i.e Temporal Adept). Of course, you have a trinket mage toolbox, which is a great thing, so a singleton Divining Top might fill that role easier.
Also, consider Azami, Lady of Scrolls as an extra draw engine to put extra wizards to use? Or Teferi to play out any of your utility creatures at instant speed? To be sure, they are both 5 mana, which could be a lot depending on how fast your games play, but if you could get them online in the mid-late game, they could helpful securing card advantage over your opponent. You could try switching them in place of the two Erayos, he seems hard to flip.
I like your list guevara59. It is a "theme" deck for sure but a very cool one, WotC has been printing a lot of good cards with creature type Wizard lately.
