Decided to make a new thread on a old idea.
Although the deck runs great, i am looking to have a little more control over the board...

To be announced

Now that we have the body of the deck, lets take a look on what could be improved.
Cards i have floating around as possibilities, or cards that dint quite fit right;

Exhaustion: a 3 mana lock. This card commands another turn in a deck that already decides what you get to keep in play. (or a 2 mana time walk with grand arbitor in play)
Cunning wish: Looking for a stifle to not get stormed out?
Personal tutor: I find the deck lacks go-get'em cards, but a 1 mana casting cost is clearly inferior in a deck that PLANS to play a 1Chalice when the card comes up.
Brainstorm: I replaced these with impulse because i kept drawing them with 1Chalice out. a clear choice, only drawback i find with impulse is now the deck lacks any way to put those 2 tidespouts in your hand, back on top.
Grand Arbiter Augustin IV: A new card i added recently and replaced with gaeas blessing. but suddenly this makes my chalice my worst enemy, I cant flashback Deep Analysis goodbye impulse, echoing truth, time walk. Was considering just adding a third tidespout in his place.
Deep Analysis: wowza! 2 mana, 3 life, 2 cards. Who can complain!? except when its in your hand... and have no way to pitch it to your GY except spending 4 mana on your main phase to draw 2 cards.
Hurkyl's Recall: I think i need to find a slot for this, its a lot of bounce and mana when a tidespout is in play.
Yawg's will: some people say this doesent belong in oath, I tell those people to test the deck 100 times and let me know how many games were won by casting it, was it more then 5? Then what game winning card do you plan on replacing with it? I like it, it works well with no gaeas.


Any ideas out there? i plan on playing this in an upcoming event in my area.
I am also looking for somewhere in CT i can playtest some vintage, send me a PM on that though.

- 4 oath +4 Goblin welders
- 1 Crop Rotation + 1 Mindslaver 
- 2 Gaea's Blessing + 1 Sol Ring +1 Mana Vault
- 2 Tidespout Tyrant + 1 Tendrils of Agony +1 Empty the warrens
9 card sideboard almost makes it control slaver =P
-4 forbidden orchard +2 volcanic island +1 island +1 Biju who shelter all
13 card sideboard it IS control slaver.
+1 red ele blast
+1 Blue ele blast
15 (those other 2 are just to round it off you can put whatever there)
Long story short this is how it plays out.
game 1 - Get oath out quick, as usual bounce all his s--- while you draw cards and smash face for 5.
game 2 - they think they got ya with their tech anti oath sideboard _ BAM outa nowhere you turn 3 combo out into a 10 stormed tendrils

 Surprised cant tell if this is a reasonable idea or not its early in the morning and im tired from reading forums.

thoughts on moving oath away from the flying pests?

Hey all, new to the forums, got this link to this site from MTGSalvation.
I am a Connecticut player looking to see how i can improve on this oath deck... heres my list so far (please note i do not play with proxies so theres no lotus or ARecall in this deck yet)

Lands:
4x Tropical island
3x City of Brass
1x island
4x Forbidden orchard
4x Yavimaya coat
1x strip mine
1x Library of alexandria

Artifacts:
1x Mox jet
1x Mox pearl
1x Mox Ruby
1x Mox sapphire
1x Mox emerald
2x Darksteel colossus

Black:
Demonic tutor
Vampiric tutor

Green:
4x Oath of Druids
1x gaea's Blessing
1x regrowth
1x Crop rotation
2x Berserk

Blue:
3x Counter spell
4x Mana drain
4x Force of will
1x Time walk
4x Brainstorm
4x Accumulated knowledge
4x Intuition

total: 60 cards

Sideboard: none as of yet (no imput needed though i have a good idea of what it will consist of)

So heres the deal. I am making this because i want a deck that extirpate will not dismantle on a whim.
PLANNED CHANGES
I am going to replace 1x yav coast and the island with 2 underground sea's.
I am going to replace 1x city of brass with a polluted delta.

The deck works well and i get usualy get a Darksteel out on turn 2 and kill by T4.
I like the intutions not only for getting the oath/forbidden orchard, but i can also get 3 AK's or Time walk/berserk/berserk or regrowth/time walk/berserk (either way it nabs HUGE threats)
Most oath decks dont run colossus or berserk, i found it works very well for me. Sideboard although its not made yet will have the Akroma/Spirit of the night to swap for colossus in heavy artifact hate decks.
I do find myself lacking card draw though, and eventualy my counters do run out.
I need to make room for 1 echoing truth (replace with regrowth??)
I was also considering adding the scepter/orms combo but i think it takes too much away from the deck as a whole
I like merchant scroll, cannot fit it though
Tinker? i feel like this needs a spot too...
How about less green more black?? Extirpate, duress etc...

Any help would be great, am i missing something? Seems like this is not longer a viable vintage deck, but with extirpate coming soon i think ichorid/any deck with welders will struggle to compensate.
