Can't wait for this one, I will be there for sure, maybe this time I will not face Ichorid in the top 8.

Aw man Ichorids the only deck I know how to beat in the top8. I thrash that deck like an unwanted step child.

Good, guess I will have to rig it to play him first round, beat him, and then rig it to play bait in the 2nd and beat him, sounds good..sending people home one card load at a time is what i do best

Regardless of what you do Stu, i will make it to the top8. Nothing can stop me, and i do mean nothing. Smile

Bad News Gang...
It doesn't look like I'll be there =(
this is my cousins wedding...I found out yesterday!!!!
it's a shot gun wedding for sure... she got knocked up and they planned it in 2 weeks! I won't miss that for anything... it should be a drunken springer-esque event!!!

at Baitbludgeon--I need my cards back!!!

Ritnecrowin you are more than happy to request the underground sea you let me use at any time. Just say "when".

Im am very unhappy at the unforeseen circumstance that is a wedding, but do have fun with it!

Regardless I will still be there to pwn anyone that shows up at the event! Smile

Kid drops tons of money to play constructed, so I am sure he will attend this one too...

Why spend money on constructed when u can spend it all on vintage? A perfectly fine example of this is rit_necro_win's german foiled shenanigans. Its quite a spectacular site to behold for any majik player, and i do mean any majik player. Smile

Meandeck tyrant Stephan "Q" Menendian isn't going to be there so I have nothing to fear. It is like beating up on Mangalores without a leader.

Hmmm.... I would say that Meandeck is more of a godhead. You may not have the father present, but the son and holy spirit will be there to pwn u.

22  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: maximizing tarmogoyf on: November 11, 2008, 01:26:34 pm
Keeper 2k8

5 Moxen
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Strip Mine
1 Black Lotus
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Polluted Delta
1 Flooded Strand
2 Underground Sea
2 Tropical Island
2 Wasteland
3 Island
4 Force Of Will
4 Mana Drain
4 Thirst For Knowledge
3 Impulse
2 Tarmogoyf
1 Gifts Ungiven
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Ponder
1 Gush
1 Sundering Titan
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Regrowth
1 Fact Or Fiction
1 Brainstorm
1 Tinker
1 Echoing Truth
1 Crucible Of Worlds
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Triskelion
1 Yawgmoth's Will
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Time Walk
1 Ancestral Recall

Although there are only 2 tarmos in the deck, he does make quite an impact on the field, regardless of the p/t he posesses. I honestly dont think that tarmogoyf needs to be a central force in any deck to make him significant, as he just simply does that by being an automatic 3/4- 5/6 in games and only costing a green and a colorless to play. Granted though I do think that certain cards need to be included or taken into consideration when adding tarmo to the deck.

-strip effects
-counterspells or removal (force of will to counter an artifact to make tarmo +2/+2 or tarfire to make +3/+3)
-potential discard effects

Now granted not all of these options need to be maximized or fulfilled in one deck. Keeper doesnt focus on discard or removal but excels at counters and strip effects making tarmo almost always a 4/5 or 5/6.  As I have found in about 90% of games with keeper, tarmogoyf gets there with just being a 4/5 or 5/6 (heh "just being" a 4/5 or 5/6). The other 10% of the time comes from running into DSC.

27  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Er, my deck on: October 22, 2008, 07:35:37 pm
Yea I dont see the casting of Tidehollow being such a big deal in your deck. I would actually see him being an artifact the bigger downside, but thats a very minor concern. Tidehollows a 2/2 as well, which beats fiend in the p/t department as well. Overall Scullers better.

-Your deck at the meandeck open was interesting as well. I enjoyed seeing gaddock teeg and his company back in action. Did you feel that this deck might've been far more superior than Parfait? or did you just wanna pwn noobs with the teeg?
28  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Llotv and Helm of Obedience in black stax on: September 22, 2008, 07:14:18 pm
I tested out against new age keeper, tps and a r/b version of my deck. Keeper i lost about 70% of my games to while tps remained at about 50/50. My helm of nothing deck beat the hybrid red black one all three games that i played. Here are some of the current changes that i made to deck during that day:

-3 duress
-monolith
-petal
-2 swamps

+4 wasteland
+1 strip
+1 cow
+1 bazaar

The more and more i play this deck the more i want to play an Uba Stax version of it. I honestly just wanna take out bobs, put in welders, and take whisper out for Uba. That way i can splash red and i think present my deck as being a more potent and obnoxious threat. Im still thinkin about the sideboard, i really dont kno what to put in.
29  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Llotv and Helm of Obedience in black stax on: September 17, 2008, 02:16:05 pm
Hmm i think i might just take out duress for something...iono what yet. Jeez this is obnoxious. Urborg i dont need for llotv the 8-10 swamps work just fine.
30  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Llotv and Helm of Obedience in black stax on: September 17, 2008, 12:04:39 pm
I tried out 1 demonic and 1 vampiric tutor yesterday and i wasnt able to cast them a whole lot through spheres. I am not too concerned about ppl bouncing my leylines partly because i either play them when im about to win the game or i play it turn zero. I almost never play it over something else that might be more important for the current gamestate. Bazaar is in there to help the deck draw through itself. My gameplan for this deck is to play an early soft lock via spheres and chalice. Second part is to draw through my deck or disrupt my opponent as much as possible, and third to ultimately win. Duress is in there as a three of and im still deciding if i really need them. Ive thought about this for about two days straight. I cant seem to find a better card to fit the spot that duress would be taken from. Serum powder is used if i dont like my hand or i need to get out a Llotv in case im playin a deck that abuses the yard (which seems like every deck in vintage). I like having grim monolith in there iono why and lotus petal just helps out as another black mana source if i need it. If i wanted to add in welder i would just make a slaver//shop aggro version of this. This combo seems a little bit more difficult in those because i might never be able to get the manas needed to cast a late Llotv. I will not be using any duals in this deck. Ive thought about and felt that it would just be better to run basics so i dont have to worry about wasteland. But these are just thoughts and theories, i have yet to really test this pile out. All this deck is to me right now is an outlet for this silly combo that no one has really constructed a tourney quality deck to yet.
