Desolutionist, would you mind posting the T8 pairings if you have the time?  Thanks.

I liked the strategy but, to my dismay, I didn't see a game 2 leyline in any of the 5 matches I played.  I saw other people playing them game 2 in other games.  I guess I just faced people without Leyline side (not a good idea in my oppinion).  The Dryads beat face in 3/5 game 2's.  I actually had a huge Dryad once and just tendrils for the win anyway.   Surprised

The only match that I didn't feel I had an answer for other than winning turn 1 was my Stax matchup.  How does Flash beat first turn Sphear of Resistance BOTH games?  I may have been a little light on mana, but I don't think it mattered too much with Stax coming down T2 with Wasteland backup.  Workshop is soooooo broken.  Even if I had a H.'s Recall in hand it would have been tough to cast and I would have had to go off imediately.  Playing against Stax reminds me how good Duress is.   Wink {B}

Thanks for fixing the standings desolutionist.  I appreciate it.

In the matters of restricting Gush for the next tournament, I would be opposed to restricting Gush, but I would not be opposed to unrestricting Gifts Ungiven.  I would really like to see how Gifts decks match up with Gush decks.  I think it would make for a very interesting tournament.

I do hope that there will be more tournaments in Harrisburg.  It's nice to have a tournament within 2hrs drive.

I don't think you have reported the standings correctly.  I beat Paul Mastriano 2-0 in round 4 and played Mike Knight in the first round of T8.  I was playing Rector Flash.

To avoid confusions like this in the future, slips of paper with each players name on them with the results of the match and their signitures is what is used at most events to submit match results.

I would have to agree with MISTERTREK in that there has been a bit too much bashing of the new players here.  I did in fact play one these guys and did offer up some valuable advice.  After seeing his cards, I don't think he knew that proxies were allowed.  If we want to have more tournaments in this location, encouraging newcomers to attend and giving them advice is probably a good idea.

Other than attendance, I was very pleased with this tournament.  All of the players were quite pollite (at least the ones I played) and made for a very enjoyable experience.  I in fact played MidKnight in the first round of T8 and was completely schooled by first turn Sphere of Resistance BOTH games.  If the T8 would have paired differently, I may have done much better.  Good games MidKnight!!  Smile

I hope to see T8 decklists soon!!!!
