It could be useful for a Gifts list? Use cards like Accumulated Knowledge? Gush, Force, Thirst? Jace, Misdirection, Dack etc. three damage plus the threat of a 3 damage menace is not horrible. Card draw or a decent clock.

something along this line?
1 demonic tutor 4 TiTi 2 Vampire hexmage 1 hex parasite 1 spellkite 2 unearth 4 preordain 3 gush 1 demonic consultation 1 ancestral recall 1 careful study 1 repeal 1 senseis diving top 1 brainstorm 1 ponder 1 treasure cruise 4 force of will 4 mental misstep 1 vampiric tutor 4 dark confidant (or thirst for knowledge? bouncing bob seems ok to me.) 5 mox 1 lotus 1 lotus petal 4 underground sea 5 fetch 2 island 1 urborg, tomb of yawgmoth 1 tolarian academy 1 dark depths
I think the card is honestly rather bonkers. You could technically run this guy in burn.dec and use him as the finisher and not have to use burn on creatures.

Going green over red is a great idea imo. This gives you access Fastbond, Crop Rotation, Sylvan Library, and both Natures Claim and Abrupt Decay which both can handle Null Rods and Stony Silence. If you want to you might even be able to fit in Zuran Orb and Crucible of Worlds. A billion life and mana Academy or not is always fun.

On the flip side playing tutors allows you to find that one of null rod or stony silence faster which completely stops belcher. Im not disagreeing with you brian. Just throwing it out there that when running singletons to stop something that tutors obv have some merit. Ofc you could just stay three colors and play Seeds of Innocence

I have always been a fan of Sylvan and just a question or suggestion but does Ivory Tower warrant a try in these decks as an alternate life gain and or card advantage engine with the ability to stay at five plus cards with Sylvan and Gush?

I remember MaskNought being a deck for a while. Could this do something for that deck? Or StifleNought? Drop one of these turn 1, turn two drop Dreadnought, swing for 12? Obv not a super common hand but you could go turn 1 Eye of Ugin, drop 2 of these, turn two play a land and Phyrexian Dreadnought, and swing for 24

Two Silvergill after a Jori seems more cute than good. I simply see her as something you want in a deck where you are always trying to cast two spells everyturn. There are obv enough free spells and one mana cantrips to do this. She helps fuel her own chain. Might be time for me to break out my Opts alongside the preordains.

Im going on the assumption that since you cant use shop mana for this that you will still have AT LEAST three mana up to cast, well, ninety percent of what you draw? Not to mention drawing a land is not a bad thing either in these scenarios. I full on agree this is a great card for MUD. Im not gonna get in a huge debate on it tho as all cards time will tell.

The way I meant it he was correct you could not use it. I was saying if there was a creature with ONLY <> symbols in its casting cost like CCC for example. You could not use the second mana ability to cast it and make it uncounterable due to that mana having to be of a specific color of your choice. Looks like I might get to play more with my Urzatron set tho

I was just suggesting Crypt over Sol since it can power out turn one Mentor it can be repealed for mana it cant be Mental Misstepped and its better for Tinker. If not running tinker then I probably agree w no Crypt. If you have ways to abuse and remove Crypt then its better than Sol. Imo.

The eight cards I would consider are Tinker, A Tinker Bot, Merchant Scroll, Mana Crypt, Lotus Petal, Repeal, Regrowth/Snapcaster, and Swords to plowshares. This gives you additional threats as well as additional fast mana to cast things and additional defense versus most decks. Lotus Petal could be Fastbond but your already eating a bit of life off Sylvan and fetches so up to you. My two cents hope it helps.
