We did both have pink hair at one time. Though mine was 14 years ago.

I hyperbolize. That was a case of it. One good thing is it makes force harder to cast since none of the blue cards will end up in your hand.

A single mask invalidates all naturally  drawn counters from then on but yes I should have specified
6  Eternal Formats / Eternal Article Discussion / Re: Uba Stax article for BMG on: November 19, 2015, 09:08:09 am
Hey sorry I have been away for a bit so didn't get to respond. The reason I went on the cavern plan is every deck in my meta is jamming quad misstep. Uba mask invalidates all other counter spells which just leaves targeted removal. I have an event this weekend and I will test out which route I prefer. I do however understand the barbarian ring approach and if I give it more time might find that to be the proper route.

Quick little blurb on Uba Mask.

Mostly just a list and a little commentary for people unfamiliar with the card

It hurts turn 1-2  a lot. I agree but you still end up with the same strengths and this deck loves thirst

So they were really good in testing. Issue was I didn't play dredge bears or mentor once all day, so didn't get to see it in action.

Our match was intense man. Had a lot of fun playing you so happy to see you do well. That Acall was a life saver, I think Game 3 goes a lot different without hitting walk.

Great tourney as always. I'm the scrub who came in 5th on awful cards such as aetherling and aether flash. Hope to have a report up soonish. Grats to all the top 8. Best event I have had the privilege of playing in.

I think we all need 200+ pages on any single card. Don't worry I know you are all waiting with bated breath for my novella on the usage of Tower of Calamities.

Yes in a deck full of 4 of's you will usually hit what you want. Tiny bit different playing with the restricted list

The border issue could be said the same thing about Alpha borders. I haven't noticed a thickness difference after using CE for quite some time. I think CE/IE would offer up 1500+ sets of power and 400-500 sets of duals. Its not going to kill the prices of ABU power and it will help the break in cost a little.

My moneys on Ham Sandwich to take down the event.
23  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: Howl of the Horde on: September 06, 2014, 02:05:33 am
If you are playing delver, with pyromancers, delvers ect and you don't have a creature in play, you're doing it wrong. Gush pays for 2/3rd of the cost of this card. so you are telling me float 2 off gush fill your entire hand for two isnt worth it? Delver does not want a late game, you are absolutely right, but its going to happen having a powerful card to push you over the edge is huge. 4 mana 2 cards for 9 damage is far better then you make is sound as its 9 damage dealt among three targets. I myself am also on 4 color delver which means the potential with DRS to put you into this a turn earlier is amazing and copying something like abrupt decay can just end the game. Look as I said, its not something I plan to run 4 of but being so dismissive of a card with a huge upside is very short sighted to me.
24  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Re: Howl of the Horde on: September 06, 2014, 12:21:43 am
So Bolt is 4 mana 9 damage, assume you swung with delver thats 12. Gush is now a Plus 4 not counting the lands. Any Draw spell is now a recall + and you have the ability to live the dream with Recall and Walk. Do I think its an auto 4 of? Hell no. Do I think i will 100% test 1-2 for a bit? Of course.
25  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Aaron Forsythe asks how Wizards can support Vintage on: September 03, 2014, 10:18:20 pm
Once they printed flip cards, I don't see why CE/IE couldn't become legal. The corner issue is the same idea as alpha having different corners and in the sleeves the back wouldn't be noticed. Its a way to get around the Reserved List while opening up a few thousand extra copies of power.
26  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Vintage Super League on: September 01, 2014, 09:10:30 pm
Nope the people winning with the deck and designing it are not even remotely as qualified as the people who barely play the format in discussing its merits.
27  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Vintage Super League on: September 01, 2014, 10:42:04 am
Results matter. Anyone on the east coast who has seen the monster that Terra-Nova is knows that DS Juggernaut is actually insane in that deck. There are 2 pieces of removal being played that actually kill him right now. One of which will cost about 5-6 mana to reliably cast vs Terra-Nova, the other is Dismember and less and less decks are packing it. Lotus does nothing for you with no cards at the end of your curve. This deck's critical number isnt 4 -5 like other shop decks revolving around Stack or Forgemaster, its critical number is 2. Lotus is not the best tempo play in the world when you have a chalice 0, a null rod or 2-3 spheres on board. Before you start the insane argument for cutting all the moxen we can state that any mana source that sticks around to activate factories every turn increases exponentially in value in this deck. Lotus will never build you into anything in this deck outside of a turn one double sphere. So weighing that possibility vs how bad it is turn two and onward in that deck does not make the reward worth it. Also claiming that the Forino's and Nick are designing decks wrong is hilarious to me. You keep drinking the koolaid given to you by pro's who barely play the format and i'll keep listening to 3 of the minds that have literally created 90% of the format defining shop decks over the past 8 years.
28  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: UR Delver on: August 27, 2014, 08:46:31 pm
I went 5-2 and ended up top 16 on 4 color delver,  without straying too much from the core of this deck DRS and Abrupt Decay were really amazing in most problematic match up's. Something people might want to tool around with
