1  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Oath of the Gatewatch on: January 04, 2016, 11:33:48 am
Well, it's spoiler time once again and it looks like Oath of the Gatewatch is going to be pretty good to my Type 4 Stack

Kozilek, the Great Distortion   {8} CC (using these until we get a proper colorless mana symbol tag
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi
When you cast Kozilek, the Great Distortion, if you have fewer than seven cards in hand, draw cards equal to the difference.
Menace
Discard a card with converted mana cost X: Counter target spell with converted mana cost X.
12/12

Solid threat right out of the gate!  I imagine this is going to take some doing to take down!

Endbringer   {5} C
Creature -Eldrazi
Untap Endbringer during each other player's untap step.
{Tap}: Endbringer deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
C,  {Tap}: Target creature can't attack or block this turn.
CC,  {Tap}: Draw a card.
5/5

Solid board control/card advantage, although it requires you to be able to untap with it or give it haste.  Still, the payoff seems big enough to give it a shot.

Sphinx of the Final Word  {5} {U} {U}
Creature - Sphinx
Sphinx of the Final Word can't be countered.
Flying, hexproof
Instant and sorcery spells you control can't be countered by spells or abilities.
5/5

Man!  This set is all about big scary beaters so far!  Like Kozilek, really tough to deal with, which I find is sort of a requirement for creatures who just beat face these days.  Protecting all your other spells for counters just put him over the top!

World Breaker  {6} {G}
Creature - Eldrazi
Devoid
When you cast World Breaker, exile target artifact, enchantment, or land.
Reach
{2}C, Sacrifice a land: Return World Breaker from your graveyard to your hand.
5/7

This seems like a hell of a replacement for Acidic Slime if you've still got him in your stack.  I don't think the recursion is going to trigger that often, but it's not totally irrelevant.

Mindmelter   {1} {U} {B}
Creature - Eldrazi Drone
Devoid
Mindmelter can't be blocked.
{3}C: Target opponent exiles a card from his or her hand. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.
2/2

Might actually be too strong, but I want to give it a try anyway.  The saving grace being how easy the little bugger is to kill, but if it sticks around for any length of time, he just ruins everyone else's hands.

Reflector Mage  {1} {W} {U}
Creature- Human Wizard
When Reflector Mage enters the battlefield, return target creature an opponent controls to its owner's hand. That creature's owner can't cast spells with the same name as that creature until your next turn.
2/3

A nice utility dude with a unique take on a classic comes into play trigger.  Worth trying out at least.

Mirrorpool
Land
Mirrorpool enters the battlefield tapped.
{Tap}: Add C to your mana pool.
{2}C,  {Tap}, Sacrifice Mirrorpool: Copy target instant or sorcery spell you control. You may choose new targets for the copy.
{4}C,  {Tap}, Sacrifice Mirrorpool: Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of target creature you control.

Finally!  A non-creature!  This will probably sit on the board for a while just waiting, but when it goes off it ought to be brutal!  The fact that it doesn't take up a spell for the turn and is so versatile makes this one a definite inclusion in my stack!
2  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Commander 2015 on: November 06, 2015, 06:21:27 am
New Commander Product!  Figured I'd list some of what I see as Type 4 stack additions, seeing as no one put anything up for BfZ (I just added Void Winnower, Scour from Existence, Brutal Expulusion, Ulamog, and Desolation Twin).

Kalemne's Captain   {3} {W} {W}
Creature -Giant Soldier
Vigilance
{5} {W} {W}: Monstrosity 3
When Kalemne's Captain becomes monstrous, exile all artifact and enchantments.
5/5

Solid beater and good mass artifact and enchantment control.  All around good utility guy and the vigilance and exile are nice extra touches.

Æthersnatch  {4} {U} {U}
Instant
Gain control of target spell. You may choose new targets for it.

I already run Commandeer and this seems better.  I'll still probably run both though, since the other can potentially not eat up my spell for the turn.

Deadly Tempest   {4} {B} {B}
Sorcery
Destroy all creatures.  Each player looses life equal to the number of creatures he or she controlled that were destroyed this way.

Yet another Wrath.  I'll have to check to see how this compares to my others, but maybe.

Mizzix's Mastery   {3} {R}
Sorcery
Exile target card that's an instant or sorcery from your graveyard.  For each card copied this way, copy it, and you may cast the copy without paying it's mana cost.  Exile Mizzix's Mastery.
Overload  {5} {R} {R} {R}

Finally!  A Recoup/Past in Flames I can play!  I've been toying around with Sins of the Past, but it usually underwhelms.  This seem WAY better!

Blade of Selves  {2}
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature has myriad
Equip  {4}

This seems fantastic!  While I'm usually hesitant about any cards in my stack that don't do anything by themselves, this seems powerful/easy enough to use to be worth it.
3  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Dragons of Tarkir on: March 13, 2015, 02:04:28 am
Definitely seen a few more cards that'll be making their way into my stack.

Hidden Dragonslayer   {1} {W}
Creature - Human Warrior
Lifelink
Megamorph  {2} {W}
When Hidden Dragonslayer is turned face up, destroy target creature with a power of 4 or greater an opponent controls.
2/1

Yet another solid morph dude that can gain you some extra life.

Clone Legion   {7} {U} {U}
Sorcery
For each creature target player controls, put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of that creature.

I LOVE this card!  Even though it'll probably just copy one or two guys most times, it still seems crazy good in Type 4.  Incidently, it doesn't target, so you can copy their shroud and hexproof guys as well!

Stratus Dancer   {1} {U}
Creature - Djinn Monk
Flying
Megamorph  {1} {U}
When Stratus Dancer is truned face up, counter target instant or sorcery spell
2/1

Morph based counters are always welcome.  They don't cost you a card or your speel or the turn, AND they can counter split second cards, which is always helpful.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier   {3} {B} {B}
Legendary Creature - Zombie Naga
Deathtouch
Exploit
When Sidisi, Undead Vizier exploits a creature, you may search your library for a card, put it in you hand, and shuffle you library.
4/6

Probably worse than Rune-Scarred Demon here, but the effect is solid and the sac outlet can be handy.

Silumgar Assassin   {1} {B}
Creature - Human Assassin
Creatures with power greater the Silumgar Assassin can't block it.
Megamorph  {2} {B}
When Silumgar Assassin is turned face up, destroy target creature with power of 3 or less an opponent controls.
2/1

Generally not as useful as Hidden Dragonslayer, he can still pick off pesky utility dorks.  I plan to try this out if I can find a spot.

Ainok Survivalist   {1} {G}
Creature - Hound Shaman
Megamorph  {1} {G}
When Ainok Survivalist is turned face up, destroy target artifact or enchantment an opponent controls.
2/1

I already run Nantuko Vigilante, but I may replace it with this since I also run Viral Drake and this gives that more stuff to proliferate.

Den Protector  {1} {G}
Creature- Human Warrior
Creatures with power less than Den Protector's can't block it.
Megamorph  {1} {G}
When Den Protector is turned ace up, return target card in your graveyard to your hand.
2/1

The face down hits keep rolling in!  This is an awesome surprise effect I can't wait to use!

Dragonlord Dromoka  {4} {G} {W}
Legendary Creature - Elder Dragon
Dragonlord Dromoka cannot be countered.
Flying, lifelink
Your opponents can't cast spells during your turn.
5/7

REALLY solid beater!  Between the lifelink and shutting down your opponents' ability to react to (or counter) stuff on your turn, this dragon demands a quick answer!

Dragonlord Silumgar  {4} {U} {B}
Legendary Creature - Elder Dragon
Flying, deathtouch
When Dragonlord Silumgar enters the battlefield, gain control of target creature or planeswalker for as long as youcontrol Dragonlord Silumgar.
3/5

This one's a bit less durable than the last, but the ability to take an opposing creature is a good one!  While less common, the three planeswalkers I run (Bolas, Karn, and Ugin) all make similarly fine targets.  It'll take a bit of effort to get the most out of him, as he is still just a fragile creature, but I like him.

Narset Transcendant   {2} {W} {U}
Planeswalker - Narset
+1: Look at the top card of your library.  If it's a noncreature, nonland card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand.
-2: When you cast your next instant or sorcery spell from your hand this turn, it gains rebound.
-9: You get an emblem with "Your opponents can't cast noncreature spells."
6

I really want to like this card, but I feel like it's the same trap I fell for when Cast Through Time was printed, it does basically nothing on it's own.  Still, handing out rebound is so appealing I want to try it.

Silumgar's Command  {3} {U} {B}
Instant
Choose two —
• Counter target noncreature spell.
• Return target permanent to its owner's hand.
• Target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn.
• Destroy target planeswalker.

The other good command (though Kolaghan's might be ok).  This one will usually be a psudeo Cryptic Command, though one could do a lot worse than that!
4  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Fate Reforged on: January 11, 2015, 06:52:54 pm
Not a ton of cards I'll be adding to my stack, but the ones that are going in seem like good ones!  I really like the manifest mechanic in particular and the way it can play with morph.

In no particular order I'll definitely be adding:
Ugin
Soulfire Grand Master
Reality Shift (really interesting removal option)
Suppliant Form

And maybe:
Rally the Ancestors
Ethereal Ambush (Potential nasty surprise and, if nothing else, two 2/2s at instant speed that keep your opponents guessing isn't terrible)
Tasigur
Ghastly Conscription
Soulflayer (I'm a sucker for possible mix and match monsters and this one has a better possible array of abilities the Cairn Wanderer)
Crux of Fate (probably not, but I'll be checking to see if this is better than any of my current wraths)

5  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Commander 2014 on: October 28, 2014, 09:16:15 am
So I'm starting to see some new possible additions to my stack in the upcoming Commander product.

Angel of the Dire Hour     {5} {W} {W}
Creature- Angel
Flash
Flying
When Angel of the Dire Hour enters the battlefield, if you cast it from your hand, exile all attacking creatures.
5/4

Great combat trick and big flyers with flash are always worth at least taking a look at, I think.

Malicious Affliction  {B} {B}
Instant
Morbid — When you cast Malicious Affliction, if a creature died this turn, you may copy Malicious Affliction and may choose a new target for the copy.
Destroy target nonblack creature.

Solid removal with the potential for card advantage.

Necromantic Selection     {4} {B} {B} {B}
Sorcery
Destroy all creatures, then return a creature card put into a graveyard this way to the battlefield under your control. It's a black Zombie in addition to its other colors and types. Exile Necromantic Selection.

Hell of a boardwipe!  I like that the creature you get back doesn't have to be one of yours so you can use it as a Control Magic as well if you don't care about pissing off the whole table.

Overseer of the Damned   {5} {B} {B}
Creature - Demon
Flying
When Overseer of the Damned enters the battlefield, you may destroy target creature.
Whenever a nontoken creature an opponent controls dies, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield tapped.
5/5

Another good etb creature with a bonus ability to boot!  I only recent cut Dark Hatchling out of my stack and I'm guessing if there is still anyone left playing him, that ends now.

Dualcaster Mage   {1} {R} {R}
Creature- Human Wizard
Flash
When Dualcaster Mage enters the battlefield, copy target instant or sorcery spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
2/2

Holy pushed cards, Batman!  I really want to add this guy, as Fork may not be playable on it's own, but putting it on a creature opens up so many possibilities.

6  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Khans of Tarkir on: September 07, 2014, 08:39:29 am
A couple more goodies to add to stacks everywhere:

Clever Impersonator     {2} {U} {U}
Creature - Shapeshifter
You have may Clever Impersonator enter the battlefield as a copy of any nonland permanent on the battlefield.
0/0

The single most versatile clone ever!  This is replacing Phyrexian Metamorph in my stack ASAP!

Jeering Instigator   {1} {R}
Creature - Goblin Rogue
Morph  {2} {R}
When Jeering Instigator is turned face up, if it's your turn, gain control of another target creature until end of turn. Untap it. That creature gains haste until end of turn.
2/1

Another really solid morph.  I'm just glad to see more playable morphs!  I've been hesitant to cut some of the weaker morphs in my stack for fear of weakening the guessing game factor, but now I can actually take a look at some of them since Ive got possible replacements (or additions)!

7  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Khans of Tarkir on: September 04, 2014, 08:56:57 am
Oh snap!

Kheru Spellthief   {3} {U}
Creature- Naga Wizard

Morph  {4} {U} {U}
When Kheru Spellthief is turned face up, counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, exile it instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost as long as it remains exiled.
3/3

Spelljack morph!  This is absolutely going in my stack!  On top of just being an awesome morph, it's also another answer to split second!
8  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Journey Into Nyx on: April 16, 2014, 09:42:07 pm
Haven't seen anyone else bring this up, so I figured I'd  post some of the spoilers thus far that have caught my eye for Type 4.

Hypnotic Siren     {U}
Enchantment Creature- Siren
Bestow 5UU
Flying
You control enchanted creature.
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has flying.
1/1

Another solid Control Magic effect and this one even leaves behind a chump blocker after the creature dies!

Polumorphus Rush   {2} {U}
Instant
Strive — Polymorphous Rush costs  {1} {U} more to cast for each target beyond the first.
Choose a creature on the battlefield. Any number of target creatures you control each become a copy of that creature until end of turn.

I keep trying to get Mirrorweave to work in my stack but it's usually too situational.  This one gives you more control over the effect, so it seems like it may work better.

Silence the Belivers    {2} {B} {B}
Instant
Strive — Silence the Believers costs 2B more to cast for each target beyond the first.
Exile any number of target creatures and all Auras attached to them.

An instant speed, exiling Plague Wind!  I realize that this isn't quite that, but it's close enough for me!

Worst Fears     {7} {B}
Sorcery
You control target player during that player's next turn. Exile Worst Fears.

Haven't decided if this is going to replace Mindslaver (It's been a little too easy to recur sometimes) in my stack, or just be an extra effect, but I still want to try it.

Bearer of the Heavens   {7} {R}
Creature--Giant
When Bearer of the Heavens dies, destroy all permanents at the beginning of the next end step.
10/10

On the fence about this guy, but he seems like he'd be a really good beatdown guy that makes your opponents hesitant about killing it.  Then again, he might just have a huge target on his head from the guy who has little board presence.
9  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Born of the Gods on: January 20, 2014, 10:33:04 pm
Love this guy:

Chromanticore       {W} {U} {B} {R} {G}
Enchantment Creature — Manticore
Bestow  {2} {W}{U}{B}{R} {G}
Flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, lifelink
Enchanted creature gets +4/+4 and has flying, first strike, vigilance, trample and lifelink.
4/4

Makes any creature on you side bananas and sticks around after it dies.  Best Bestow card I've seen yet!

Less sure about this one, but should be solid at least in newer stacks:

Tromokratis      {5} {U} {U}
Legendary Creature — Kraken
Tromokratis has hexproof unless it's attacking or blocking.
Tromokratis can't be blocked unless all creatures defending player controls block it. (If any creature that player controls doesn't block this creature, it can't be blocked.)
8/8

A solid beater with interesting protection.  I won't go out of my way to acquire him, but I may give him a shot.

10  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Theros on: September 01, 2013, 07:06:21 pm
Here's a few more I really like:

Shipbreaker Kraken   {4} {U} {U}
Creature — Kraken
6{U}{U}: Monstrosity 4.
When Shipbreaker Kraken becomes monstrous, tap up to four target creatures. Those creatures don't untap during their controllers' untap steps for as long as you control Shipbreaker Kraken.
6/6

A 10/10 that clears out blockers and demands an answer.  If you tap down something scary, like a Blightsteel, you might even get opponents to help protect it!

Voyage's End     {1} {U}
Instant
Return target creature to its owner's hand. Scry 1.

A nice utility spell with loads of tempo.  Not really sure if this can make it in my stack, but I like to try and find spots for solid role players like this.  Great for beginner stacks!

Medomai the Ageless    {4} {W} {U}
Legendary Creature — Sphinx
Flying
Whenever Medomai the Ageless deals combat damage to a player, take an extra turn after this one.
Medomai can't attack during extra turns.
4/3

Powerful effect, but I've found that creatures like this really require a lot of protection as they usually die before the connect.  That ability though...

Underworld Cerberus    {3} {B} {R}
Creature — Hound
Underworld Cerberus can't be blocked except by three or more creatures.
Cards in graveyards can't be the targets of spells or abilities.
When Underworld Cerberus dies, exile it and each player returns all creature cards from his or her graveyard to his or her hand.
6/6

Very cool card!  Not really sure about whether he makes the cut or not, but the abilities all look so interesting the I want to at least give him a shot.

Curse of the Swine       {X} {U} {U}
Sorcery
Exile X target creatures. For each creature exiled this way, its controller puts a 2/2 green Boar creature token onto the battlefield.

Very funny card!  Come on, man, they all turn into pigs!  Plus, it's a multi-targeted removal spell, in a color almost nothing's got protection from, and it exiles!  Shame about the sorcery speed though.
11  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Gatecrash on: January 15, 2013, 08:41:02 am
Lord of the Void looks pretty good, as long as he can actually get through.  In my stack, that is a huge if as there is a fair amount of removal.  Still, if I get my hands on one, I definitely try it.  One card I know I'm going to play is:

Sepulchral Primordial      {5} {B} {B}
Creature - Avatar
Intimidate
When Sepulchral Primordial enters the battlefield, for each opponent, you may put up to one target creature card from that player's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control.
5/4

Fantastic late game play!  Lets you pick up the best creature from each graveyard and has a decent sized evasive body of its own.  Makes me wanna try this guy too:

Luminate Primordial     {5} {W} {W}
Creature - Avatar
Vigilance
When Luminate Primordial enters the battlefield, for each opponent, exile up to one target creature that player controls and that player gains life equal to its power.
4/7

Swords on a stick is really solid.  I just worry that the creatures are too big in this format and it will be too much life to be giving all of my opponents.
12  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Gatecrash on: January 07, 2013, 08:21:08 pm
Love this one and am going to need one for my stack as well as a couple of EDH decks:

Stolen Identity          {4} {U} {U}
Sorcery
Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of target creature or artifact.
Cipher

Depending on how often creatures get though in your stack, this can be like a better version of Phyrexian Metamorph (which sees play in mine).  Yes it turns whatever creature it is encoded onto a target, but if it even gets through once, that's pretty solid.
13  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Gatecrash on: January 02, 2013, 04:06:34 am
Absolutely going to be playing this guy!

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind     {U} {U} {B} {B}
Creature- Shapeshifter
Hexproof
Whenever a creature card is put into an opponent's graveyard from anywhere, you may have Lazav, Dimir Mastermind become a copy of that card except it's name is still Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, it's legendary in addition to it's other types, and it gains hexproof and this ability.
3/3

Creatures die a lot in my stack, and the fact that even things like countermagic trigger this guy just makes him al the better.  Infact he's even pretty good with:

Skarrg Goliath   {6} {G} {G}
Creature- Beast
Trample
Bloodrush - 5{G}{G}, Discard Skarrg Goliath: Target attacking creature gets +9/+9 and gains trample until end of turn.
9/9

Solid combat trick for stacks looking for that sort of thing.  Not sure if this will quite cut it in mine, but a definite inclusion for a newer stack.

Hellkite Tyrant   {4} {R} {R}
Creature- Dragon
Flying, trample
Whenever Hellkite Tyrant deals combat damage to a player, gain control of all artifacts that player controls.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control twenty or more artifacts, you win the game.
6/6

Another iffy one, just because he needs to connect to have an effect, but man is it a good one.  I will likely end up giving him a try as I have a minor dragon subtheme with Scion of the Ur-Dragon and Imperial Hellkite in my stack.

Deathpact Angel   {3} {W} {B} {B}
Creature- Angel
Flying
When Deathpact Angel dies, put a 1/1 white and black Cleric creature token onto the battlefield. It has "3{W}{B}{B}, {T}, Sacrifice this creature: Return a card named Deathpact Angel from your graveyard to the battlefield."
5/5

Probably the weakest inclusion here, since it's just a weaker Sengir Nosferateu (and that didn't even get to stay in my stack), but I'm just a sucker for weird token producers and I want to at least try and see if this one works out better.
14  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Magic 2013 on: June 27, 2012, 11:17:51 pm
Uh, so this seems amazing...

Spelltwine     {5} {U}
Sorcery
Exile target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard and target instant or sorcery from your opponent's graveyard. Copy those cards. Cast the copies if able without paying their mana cost. Exile Spelltwine.

15  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Magic 2013 on: June 23, 2012, 12:44:47 am
A couple of cards for those of us with an ACC rule:

Mindclaw Shaman           {4} {R}
Creature - Viashino Shaman
When Mindclaw Shaman enters the battlefield, target opponent reveals his or her hand. You may cast an instant or sorcery card from it without paying its mana cost.
2/2

Solid dude for most stacks I'd say.

Omniscience                      {7} {U} {U} {U}
Enchantment
You may cast nonland cards from your hand without paying their mana costs.

AKA, "Hey everybody!  Please all gang up on me right now!"  The scary thing is, even with that happening, I still think you have a solid chance of winning if this sticks and you have a decent hand.
16  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Planechase 2 on: May 22, 2012, 02:49:01 am
Couple of others that look pretty good to me:

Silent-Blade Oni           {3} {U} {U} {B} {B}
Creature - Demon Ninja
Ninjutsu  {4}{U}{B}
Whenever Silent-Blade Oni deals combat damage to a player, look at that player's hand. You may cast a nonland card in it without paying that card's mana cost.
6/5

Another ninja to join Ink-Eyes in my stack!  This one looks even better as it will almost always have a target and can lead to some devastating plays.  Sucks without the ACC rule though.

Dragonlair Spider           {2} {R} {R} {G} {G}
Creature - Spider
Reach
Whenever an opponent casts a spell, put a 1/1 green Insect creature token onto the battlefield.
5/6

Less great, but can still put out a sizeable army of chumps if left unmolested.

Vela the Night-Clad         {4} {U} {B}
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Intimidate
Other creatures you control have intimidate.
Whenever Vela the Night-Clad or another creature you control leaves the battlefield, each opponent loses 1 life.
4/4

Definitely the least powerful of the three, but still gives your other dudes evasion and can punish someone for wrathing.
17  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Dark Ascension Spoilers on: January 16, 2012, 01:10:53 am
Seems like this could be an interesting addition to some stacks:

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed          {3} {B} {B} {B}
Legendary Creature -- Zombie Cleric
Intimidate
When a Human deals damage to you, destroy it.
Other non-Human creatures you control get +1/+1 and have undying.
5/5

My Type 4 stack seems to have a fairly even split between Humans and non-Humans, adding an interesting new dynamic to things with this guy.  I like cards that care about something new in my stack.  Still, he needs some way to be protected in order to work.
18  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Innistrad on: September 19, 2011, 12:29:34 am
Well geez, they sure saved all the good T4 stuff for the end!

Back from the Brink      {4} {U} {U}
Enchantment
Exile a creature from your graveyard and pay it's mana cost:  Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of that card.  Activate this ability only anytime you could cast a sorcery.

I like this as a potentially good late-game effect.  Like a worse but one-sided Twilight's Call.

Lost in the Mist       {3} {U} {U}
Instant
Counter target spell.  Return target permanent to it owner's hand.

It's like a half a Cryptic Command!  Hell yeah this is going in my stack!

Runic Repetition      {2} {U}
Sorcery
Return target exiled card with flashback to your hand.

Narrow but pretty powerful effect.  I'll have to look to see how much flashback I play to see if this makes it.

Sever the Bloodline   {3} {B}
Sorcery
Exile target creature and all other creatures with the same name as that creature.
Flashback {5} {B} {B}

The sorcery speed sucks on this one, but it might still be worth it as it is the only targeted creature removal I know with flashback. It even occasionally has some extra oomph against tokens and Clone effects.

Tribute to Hunger      {2} {B}
Instant
Target opponent sacrifices a creature.  You gain life equal to that creature's toughness.

Yay!  Better Edict!

Desperate Ravings     {2} {R}
Instant
Draw two cards, then discard a card at random.
Flashback   {2} {U}

Eh...maybe?  Flashback card draw could be good.

Evil Twin        {2} {U} {B}
Creature - Shapeshifter
You may have Evil Twin enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature on the battlefield except it gains " {U} {B} {Tap}: Destroy target creature with the same name as this creature."

Will probably usually be just a Clone, but the extra option to kill the original is always nice.

Finally some decent cards with flashback:

Creeping Renaissance     {3} {G} {G}
Sorcery
Choose a permanent type. Return all cards of the chosen type from your graveyard to your hand.
Flashback  {5} {G} {G}

Super Regrowth with flashback?  Yes, please!

Unburial Rites         {4} {B}
Sorcery
Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Flashback  {3} {W}

A so-so reanimation effect, but the flashback could make it worth it.

Not a whole lot of T4 playables in this set thus far, but this one is neat:

Army of the Damned     {5} {B} {B} {B}

Sorcery
Put thirteen 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens onto the battlefield tapped
Flashback  {7} {B} {B} {B}

For stacks that use Crush of Wurms, this at least provides a different option.  Though Storm Herd is still probably better, I'm starting to get a little sick of that card to be honest.

This guy seems like a solid possibility:

Reaper from the Abyss         {3} {B} {B} {B}

Creature - Demon
Flying
Morbid- At the beginning of each end step, if a creature died this turn, destroy target non-Demon creature.
6/6

Creatures do tend to die pretty often, and I imagine that if this guy manages to stick around for any length of time, he will certainly accelerate the process!  Plus he has a decent body and he's big and black and therefore immune to some removal as well.
22  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: M12 on: June 30, 2011, 02:18:28 pm
And the hits keep coming!

Sphinx of Uthuun        {5} {U} {U}
Creature - Sphinx
Flying
When Sphinx of Uthuun enters the battlefield, reveal the top five cards of your library. An opponent separates those cards into two piles. Put one pile into your hand and the other into your graveyard.
5/6

I really hope there is a cycle of these guys!

Here's the first card I've really liked for Type 4 (though I love Scrambleverse for my Chaos Effect Stack):

Rune-Scarred Demon    {5} {B} {B}
Creature - Demon
Flying
When Rune-Scarred Demon enters the battlefield, search your library for a card, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.
6/6

Good ability on a solid body.  Great with Karmic Guide, Artisan of Kozilek, and Clone effects.  Ridiculous with Kiki-Jiki!

Last of the spoiler's up at MTGSalvation, and there's a few last cards that I like for Type 4:

Tribute to the Wild    {1} {G}
Instant
Each opponent sacrifices an artifact or enchantment.

Nice Edict for artifacts and enchantments.  Reminds me of Fracturing Gust minus the lifegain.

Scavenging Ooze    {1} {G}
Creature - Ooze
{G}: Exile target card from a graveyard. If it was a creature card, put a +1/+1 counter on Scavenging Ooze and you gain 1 life.
2/2

A really solid grave-hate option.  I'd say a direct upgrade over Withered Wretch if anyone still plays him (and not quite as absurd as Creakwood Ghoul has proven in my stack)

A bunch of new cards just spoiled here: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=329854

And a few I think are pretty good in Type 4.

Riku of Two Reflections    {2} {U} {R} {G}
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, you may pay  {U} {R}. If you do, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Whenever another nontoken creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may pay  {G} {U}. If you do, put a token that's a copy of that creature onto the battlefield.
2/2

He's like a half fair Mischievous Quanar/half better Minion Reflector.  I definitely like him.

Spell Crumple     {1} {U} {U}
Instant
Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, put it on the bottom of its owner's library instead of into that player's graveyard. Put Spell Crumple on the bottom of it's owners library.

Hooray!  Another great counterspell.  With all the reshuffling effects in most stacks, this may even have a chance to show up again!

Soul Snare        {W}
Enchantment
{W}, Sacrifice Soul Snare: Exile target creature that's attacking you or a planeswalker you control.

A nice rattlesnake card.  Better for low powered stacks, but a fun addition nonetheless.

Chaos Warp     {2} {R}
Instant
The owner of target permanent shuffles it into his or her library, then reveals the top card of his or her library. If it's a permanent card, he or she puts it onto the battlefield.

A decent removal spell that's also a mini-Warp World.  I already play Reweave n my stack, so I'll enjoy this guy too.
26  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Commander (multiplayer product) on: June 08, 2011, 11:42:24 pm
Yeah, Damia is definitely legendary.  I just copy and pasted it from the MTGSalvation spoiler and didn't even notice that it wasn't listed as such.

Here's a guy that will be replacing Reiver Demon in my stack (which is a shame since I love the art):

Dread Cacodemon      {7} {B} {B} {B}
Creature - Demon
When Dread Cacodemon enters the battlefield, if you cast it from your hand, destroy all creatures you opponents control, then tap all other creatures you control.
8/8

I love this next one too (though I've tended to overestimate sorcery speed removal before)

Syphon Flesh   {4} {B}
Sorcery
Each other player sacrifices a creature.  Then put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield for each creature sacrificed this way.

Nice little psudeo-Wrath that can give you a little army too.
27  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Commander (multiplayer product) on: June 08, 2011, 12:33:32 am
Damia, Sage of Stone    {4} {G} {U} {B}
Creature - Gorgon Wizard
Deathtouch
Skip your draw step.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have fewer than seven cards in hand, draw cards equal to the difference.
4/4

Seems like she could be good if she lives.  I think she'll be good in lower powered stacks.

Avatar of Slaughter   {6} {R} {R}
Creature - Avatar
All creatures have double strike and attack each turn if able.
8/8

Like this guy a lot if your stack has a lot of creatures for the aggression it encourages.
28  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Commander (multiplayer product) on: June 05, 2011, 11:27:39 pm
Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

The Mimeoplasm           {2} {U} {B} {G}

Legendary Creature - Ooze

As The Mimeoplasm enters the battlefield, you may exile two creature cards from graveyards. If you do, it enters the battlefield as a copy of one of those cards with a number of additional +1/+1 counters on it equal to the power of the other card.
0/0

This guy is pretty much a better in almost all cases version of Body Double and if definitely going in my stack!
29  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: Commander (multiplayer product) on: June 03, 2011, 02:43:00 am
Honestly, I haven't seen anything too exciting for Type 4 just yet.

Karador is pretty good, but the way I play the ACC rule in my stack, it counts as your spell for the turn if you used any "Type 4 Mana" to cast it, so the dead creature would still count as your spell for the turn.

Also, remember that Nin is a potential one-shot kill, and a lot of groups dislike that.  If it is ok with your group, then she could be pretty cool, as she's still fairly fragile but the ability is actually interesting.  Ultimately though, she'll likely just play out as another "kill this now or you die" card.

Vish Kal feels like just another big dumb beater to me with an occasionally useful sac ability, but Edric seems like he could have really interesting political implications.  Unfortunately, he's just a puny 2/2.

I really hope some more exciting stuff comes out of these for Type 4 as the above all feel a bit "meh" to me.
30  Vintage Community Discussion / Type 4 / Re: New Phyrexia on: April 22, 2011, 03:11:31 am
I think this makes another solid additon, possibly supplanting Duplicant:

Phyrexian Ingester    {6} {U}

Creature - Beast

Imprint - When Phyrexian Ingester enters the battlefield, you may exile target nontoken creature.
Phyrexian Ingester gets +X/+Y, where X is the exiled creature card's power and Y is its toughness.

3/3

And if anyone still plays Clone (like me) or Sculpting Steel, you could replace it with this:

Phyrexian Metamorph   {3}{pu}
Artifact Creature - Shapeshifter

({PU} can be paid with either {U} or 2 life.)
You may have Phyrexian Metamorph enter the battlefield as a copy of any artifact or creature on the battlefield, except it's an artifact in addition to its other types.

Also, I kinda love Viral Drake.  I've been looking for some reason to put Proliferate in my stack and he seems like the perfect candidate.  Plenty scary on its own, and some cool interactions here and there.  It is a shame there wasn't somewhere between too weak and degenerate for Proliferate in T4 since infinite activations seems crazy, but I still look forward to giving him a shot.  He can even be used to save Planeswalkers from any amount of damage at instant speed!
