Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Cedarburg, WI double power results--24 people

I would have played, but I've never played Vintage at a tournament before, and wasn't able to properly test or anything like that (I was the guy with all black and the snake shirt on, I came up to you and asked if the decklists would be posted and you said "yes"). I was hoping to see the top 8 lists so I could try some new stuff out without feeling lost and confused, and there's no vintage scene here at all so I want to get used to the format so I can get a group started here. Is there any chance you could PM me the t8 lists? I did travel a few hours to get to the venue simply to watch people play vintage. Looked like a cool event from what I saw though. I hope this bad turn out doesn't spoil the rest of them down the road.

2 Mythic Rares seen so far: Tezzeret and this. So much for being purely a flavor thing.
There's actually been six: The first was Hellkite Overlord, then Ajani Vengeant, then Tezzeret. Sarkhan Vol and Sphinx Sovereign have been previewed in the past two days on mtg.com, and now this was leaked. Of those, three are planeswalkers (highly flavorful), two are Timmy creatures that are almost uncastable and only good if you're cheating them into play, and one is a crazy Johnny card. They all seem pretty Mythic so far. Well, I've seen Hellkite Overlord being played in Oath decks because its Vintage legal. Tezzeret is POSSIBLE with Academy, I'm not sure though. Then Mirror might find a place if someone thinks of how to break it properly.

But most of the decks I've seen don't run any kind of recursion at all, so at least this can get back metalworkers, triskelion, karn, or anything other creatures you want. I mean, there's Academy Ruins to put artifacts on your library, but you could use Crone to draw a card to play it right away, then return him, rinse and repeat.
Edit: Perhaps Umbral Mantle can be used to produce infinite mana and then bring back infinite triskelions with Scarecrone.

Eternal Formats / Creative / Scarecrone in Mono Brown Shop?

I don't see any card draw at all in Shop decks, although that might not be a bad thing considering their disruption package, but I don't see it being that bad, and Scarecrone can recover dudes that have been killed off because you can't run Welder.
What does anyone else think?

Eternal Formats / Creative / Wanting to get into Vintage - Need help understanding ins and outs.

I hope this is the right place for this thread. I've been trying to complete net decks so far, then I want to branch off into my own ideas, but I need to know why people make the changes they do. I know it would probably be a pretty long list, but does anyone have a list of every card used in any t8 Vintage deck resently?
I have Manaless Ichorid built right now (without bazaar) and I'm working on Flash and Mono Red Workshop Aggro. With this list, if someone could help me realize why those cards are used, and in what decks, that would be extremely helpful. If there's a way to find this out on my own, someone tell me.
Another reason to keep this thread up is I've seen a lack of Rack and Ruin, what is the reasoning behind this? Has destroying two artifacts become bad or is it just a workshop light meta around there?
Thank you everyone and I hope to be putting my two cents into many more threads from here on out.
