^ I agree, with Phyrexian mana you get to pay the 3 instead of the colored mana. And I think this would possibly be a good SB or MD card in some decks like fish and the likes, I can't wait to get my box NPH.

I think that this card has a whole lot of possibilities. It's a lot more playable than it's 2 predecessors, and this card can be played in other colors as well. It can kill Legendary creatures or artifacts (play this to destroy Jitte) and can be pitched to FoW since it's basically blue. What's no to like. Now what deck would this fit in?
3  Eternal Formats / General Strategy Discussion / Dispatch on: April 18, 2011, 12:10:53 am

Dispatch W
Instant (U)
Tap target creature.
Metalcraft - If you control three or more artifacts, exile that creature.
Venser wondered if it could still be called a teleportation spell if the destination is oblivion.

Spoiled from MTG site.

New StP for affinity and possibly for MUD? Not sure if this would actually fit but something worth thinking of.

@Chapuzas&Paladin3056

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

Vector Asp and perhaps Virulent Slivers could work as one drops. Duress and Thoughtseize are other cards to use in the 1 mana slot.

@Paladin: I think I'd rather not play with Tainted Strike. Phyrexian Dreadnought with a Berserk or 2 pump spells is enough to win the game as well.

Yeah that could work to, but I usually see UB Naught decks so Tainted strike is better since he is on color with the deck.

Anyway, I believe that infect could add a new meta in the current vintage because it can hit hard it can hit fast. But we will just to wait and see what would the meta of vintage look life post Scars.

The poison deck

I really like your take in the infect deck. Actually, one of my thoughts is incorporating it in UB Dreadnaught Deck, an infected Naught by Tainted Strike can automatically will you the game in 1 turn (12 poison counters auto win).

Going BGw is also another route I want to take without playing blue. With cheap efficient infect creatures from SoM and a lot of Pump effects winning in a few turns would be a breeze. I would like to add in Autumn Breeze for anti counter and bounce effects.

White stax here I come!

Could it be the card that brings Parfait back?
Was Parfait ever really "here" to begin with? Just sayin.

It never was, but this pushes white to an all new level. Seriously this card hoses a lot of decks like storm (which has already been hosed) and Oath, and many others which highly relies on targeting players. The great thing about Leylines is that you do not have to play its color, you would have to rely on luck to get it to your opening hand though.

Don't know if this have been mentionned or not, but annilhator makes maze of ith unable to deal with this.

Oh yeah, i should remember to read the card again. The creature gets to attack first before Maze of Ith triggers.

Anyway, Iona AND Emroku are both optimal plays, who cares if Iona or Emroku are better than the other, why not play both, there is no downside in playing both, you just have better finishers now that you have 2 possible end gamers. Iona that affects the game immediately upon play, and Emroku which would win you the game upon attacking.

I think Karakas would now quadruple in value because of its capability to stop oath, i should look for a playset of it right now. That is if it is possible to find *grins*

Maze of Ith sees play, and will probably see even more with this guy around. no trample so maybe Bitterblossom would work as a sideboard card.

cool art, Mark Tedin FTW

edit: sorry, what's Annihilator? did I miss something or is this new?

Annihalator X - When ~ attacks, defending player sacrifices X permanents

This is the mechanic that makes it more playable

I forgot that Annihalator can be Stifled or am I wrong there. Anyway if Aninihalator get stifled you may block it and get to live a turn or 2 unless you pull out Time Vault combo.

I have exhausted my options for stopping this and have no possible answer to it unless ther would be one in RoE.

Stock in Ensnaring Bridge just went up 8000%
Other options include Jester's Cap, Extract, Sadistic Sacrament, Diabolic Edict + Leyline of the Void

As if Oath needed to be better than it already is . . .

Diabolic Edict + Leyline of the Void is the best possible answer for this once Emralku is in play. But would be trouble if you are not running Black.

This is clearly better than Iona, Once this hits play your opponent scoops, think about it, what can likely stop this card in vintage:

STP or any spot removal: Stopped by Protection to Colored Spells
Diabloic Edict: Gets returned to the deck and would be oathed up again
Blocked by Vampire Nighthawk (or any card with deathtouch): Possible, unless you can sacrifce 6 permanents and still keep this alive afterwards, which is highly unlikely in vintage, and even if you get to kill this card, your opponent just Oath's it again.
Sower of Temptation: Possible choice to stop this, but highly unlikely since the opponent would most likely pack counters or Stifle
Maze of Ith: Possible, but currently not used in vintage

I have exhausted my options for stopping this and have no possible answer to it unless ther would be one in RoE.

Edit: Although I am not that familiar with other answers in Vintage, maybe you can name a few so that I can get a playset of those

Never thought hat Alara would have so many vintage playable cards, but we will have to wait and see once Alara comes out...

I can see the possibility of this card in fish, since fish basically just attacks and use threats such as Meddling mage, Tarmogoyf, Jotun Grunt and the likes, fish will hardly do anything but wait till your opponent casts... Now that it has a slightly big toughness this card will surely see play, but we will have to wait and see...

It seems that some of the other split second cards will start to see play now...
11  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Manaplasm viable? on: September 18, 2008, 12:45:18 am
This card looks like fun, the only advantage of this card over Tarmogoyf is that it can get an extremely huge P/T \, and with all the free to play spells in vintage, I can name a ffew and FoW is one of them, this card is nuts in unblocked... Now to find the right deck for this card to even see play...
12  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Preview Card: Skill Borrower on: September 18, 2008, 12:40:31 am
I was thinking in the line of:

"Skill Borrower" + Sensei's Divinig Top + Time Vault = Infinite Turns!!!

Possible but very fragile...
