some things i have noticed about this deck.  Why run library why not run academy ruins instead? As far as draw engines go i was wonderin if anyone had attempted to try out the u capsule. I wanted to point out that this deck is in many ways similar to CS so why not try and run a CS style build? it would give you all the control elements of cs while having the combo in it as well. Also would some one mind posting a solid 3 color list and go into depth and detail about certain card choices. Im askin all this becuase i plan on going waaay out of my way to to go to a decent size t1 even this weekend and this deck seem extremely solid to me. Seeing as it has been quite some time since i have played i just wanted to get as much info on the deck as i could before i go. As far board ideas go i was wonderin if i could see a couple too please . any help i could get would be much apprciated ty.

4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Of Mana Drain and its place in Vintage on: September 29, 2008, 03:28:35 pm
this may seem to be a little off subject but from my view a tezzerett control deck with drain and a heavy counter package i.e. 4 force 4 drain 3 stifle seems like it would be really good. because not only would you have all the control you would need you would also have the tez to dig for what ever answers you would need. Drain seem ridiculous because it allows you to drop the walker so fast.

y cant you tezzerret out something that would just slow down yuor opponent rather the going instantly go for vault?

simple question for all of you. Seeing as how the new wording on time vault works with tezzeret how long do you think it will be before the restriction of the blue planeswalker happens.

you should find a way to fit force in there and more draw like ponder/brainstorm. I love draw 7 combos decks so maybe a way to fit in some more draw 7's but it looks pretty solid. luv it
8  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: What are the most powerful/viable cards that you think are underplayed? on: September 25, 2008, 12:09:09 pm
seems like goblin charbelcher i being under used now that blue got hit hard and mox is un restricted on top of the fact that gutteral response, manamorphose, and street wraith are now in use.

still testin the build i posted from before. i do like the blakc build but i feel like its slowly gunna turn into a bad tps deck. Also in the build i posted were messin with some of there numbers so that we can fir one more blast and a twister in it. If you end up running the black build you definatly need a way to cast tendrils. the main reason i like the build i messin with more than the black i because of all the draw 7's. it seem more consistent thats all. im gunna try the blakc build and post back some ideas on i though.

yeah i tested pact but if i wasnt going first it was horrible. Response is already in the list and is spectacular because you can just rfg a guide and play it.

me and a friend of mine have recently decided to get back into playing vintage. After testing several of the current decks in the format i noticed that it seems rare that any one is playing belcher. So i decided to put it together and it seems to be doing consistantly well. here i one of the lists we came up with.

2 elvish spirit guide
4 simian spirit guide
3 street wraith

1 ancestral recall
4 dark ritual
1 demonic consultation
3 guttural response
4 manamorphose
1 pyroblast
1 vampiric tutor

1 channel
1 demonic tutor
2 empty the warrens
1 imperial seal
4 land grant
4 right of flame
1 tinker
1 wheel of fortune
1 windfall

1 black lotus
2 chromatic star
4 goblin charbelcher
1 lions eye diamond
1 lotus petal
1 mana crypt
1 mana vault
1 memory jar
1 mox emerald
1 mox jet
1 mox pearl
1 mox ruby
1 mox saphire
1 sol ring

1 bayou
1 taiga

s/b
n/a

this is by all means not a final list but something to start out on. The reason i ask what happened to belcher is that with the printing of cards like guttural response and manamorphose plus the un restriction of chrome mox ( havent built with it yet ) why is it that people seemed to have abandoned this archtype? p.s. any suggestions or idea much appriciated.
