You can't get cards removed from the game face down with Burning Wish, Cunning Wish, Golden Wish, or Living Wish Yes you can. Read the second bulletFirst of all, further discussion belongs in the rules forum. Second, you're not correct. Face down cards are not "appropriate" because you cannot look at them to verify their card type, and thus you cannot be sure they are legal targets. -Jacob

Smmenen: I know some of the older Magic players (age 20+) play competitive poker, especially with the recent "poker boom." Do you have an interest in poker, even if Magic still outranks it?
Also, with passing the Bar Exam somewhat recently, do you foresee anything in the future overcoming Magic as your top (??) priority in life? Such as career and/or family like some of the "retired" TMDers have done? Zherbus springs to mind here.

I've seen that Gifts isn't played very much anymore....why is that?
It is a good deck is it not?
I'm pretty sure the errata of Time Vault killed its popularity. It was never that popular to begin with, but it remains a very strong archetype in my opinion. We'll just have to let the pundits call it "dead" before resurrecting it at some point down the line. Well I was just repeating what I've heard/read (probably on these boards as I never read about Vintage anywhere else).

Well, as you can see, I got one working. Where I... borrowed... it from says it was 100 x 100 pixels, which clearly not the case. Right-clicking on my avatar that shows up in the upper-left by my messages and what not and then going to "properties" says my image is 65 x 65. So I guess that's the limit. Thanks all.  thats why I have my text under neath my avatar I see that you have an avatar at least.

Are avatars only open to more "distinguished" members of TMD? If not, what are the pixel limitations for avatars, because I can't seem to upload one. When I try to, it won't even say the picture I've chosen is too large or anything, it just won't even pretend to have noticed that I was trying to upload an avatar.
Thanks in advance.

As far as Ray of Revelation is concerned, I'm really bad about the rules for this stuff, do I have a chance to activate Ray of Revelation before Leyline of the Void, Planar Void, Tomod's Crypt, Phyrexian Furance or Withered Wretch removes it? If there is a Planar Void in play and you dredge a Ray into the graveyard, you can respond to the Void's triggered ability of removing cards going to the graveyard from the game with a flashback-ing of the Ray. Â This works because Planar Void says " When a card is put into a graveyard..." Leyline of the Void is a different story. Â Leyline reads " If a card would be put into an opponent's graveyard, remove it from the game instead." Â Meaning you'll never get a chance to flashback Ray to hit the Leyline as it never even makes it to the graveyard. Â Leyline of the Void is a bitch. Tormod's Crypt, Phyrexian Furnace and Withered Wretch are all activated abilities, thus you can respond to them by flashback-ing Ray to hit something. Â Note that Tormod's Crypt will not be a legal target for Ray of Revelation if you play it in response to them using it, as part of the cost to use Crypt is to sacrifice it, therefor it's not in play for you to even target with Ray. Â Also note that Withered Wretch is a creature, so Ray of Revelation isn't going to anything to it, unfortunately. On preview Angry Pheldagrif pretty much said everything this post was saying. Mine's more in depth, so I'm posting it anyway.

Excuse me, but what's the sideboard for this deck? I didn't find it in the his report...
1 Chain of Vapor 1 Bayou 1 Doomsday 1 Elvish Spirit Guide 3 Hurkyls Recall 4 Duress 4 Force of Will That is the SB run by Saucemaster in the report I linked to earlier. Zherbus a post later added this: Our sideboards were another story but it had:
4 Force of Will X Duress X Chain of Vapor X Hurkyl's Recall X Fetch/Dual X Elvish Spirit Guide Keep in mind those SB options were all from the original Meandeck Tendrils. This new updated version with Repeal may or may not have different SB options.

and I'd say that the precedence of right over nice is what distinguishes our community. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Common courtest doesn't have to go out the window when explaining something that is considered more optimal than a proposed idea.

Oh! lol.
If I was the head TO it would have been 13, but he decided 9 was fine.
We went with nine because five basically only allows for powered up budget decks and not enough people around here have anything remotely close to power.
I don't want to start a debate about it, but that was our basic reasoning for doing nine instead of five. Next time I'll push harder for 13.

So everyone is on a level playing field. The same reason any other tournament around the country allows proxies.

Sorry about the prize not really being worth it. I didn't know people would be travelling that much to play.
Like I said though, if we can start getting higher attendance than just the "regulars" the prizes will start getting better.

This is not an announcement, but rather a question to the TMD members.
If a store in Las Cruces, New Mexico were to have a 10 proxy T1 tournament, with a Legends power card for 1st and probably 2nd place, would anyone nearby be able to come?
There is no date set yet, because we are waiting to see if we'd be able to get some people from TMD to come. If you are able to come, reply to the thread or PM (preferred). The prize is not as lucrative as say, a Mox or Lotus, but if we can get T1 to become more popular around here, the prizes would definately increase in quality.
If it looks like we can get a lot of people from outside the city to come I'll post up an official tournament announcement.
Thank you in advance.
