1  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: [Report] TPS Top8 at Mox ruby tourney, just to become slaughtered by elves... on: June 20, 2005, 09:23:42 am
Great report!
I was the guy sitting next to you Round 1, and same one who was crushed by your TPS playing friend.
Yes, the same one who told chalice for 1 is sooo good against Dark Ritual and such.
Really didn't know he was playing chalice in the board.  Mr. Green
2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Is lose hope (don't laugh) a good way to deal with welder? on: December 25, 2004, 05:36:56 pm
It's not bad, but I'd rather be running Lava Dart, Fire/Ice or BEB.
They simply have more uses.
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [deck] nassif's eba on: December 25, 2004, 03:49:59 pm
It's a pretty solid deck, but the lack of basic lands makes it vulnerable  to Strip effects indeed.
I'm also playing the deck, and I'm running 1 Island and 1 Plains (and 4 flooded strand ofc). (After SB, Disenchant/Seal/BEB makes short work of B2B, Blood Moon etc.)

Sacred Ground also sees play as a SB card in Wasteland-heavy meta's, though a build with more basiclands would be a better option.

The mainboard has a pretty good game against populair decks like Oath and various Combo decks, since it runs StoP's, Vindicates, Duress and the like. I can't really see why I should be running Cunning Wish.

Has anyone heard of sphere of resistance?

It was the card people used as a lock component before Trinisphere was made, so yeah, most people know this card all too well.  Rolling Eyes

Trinisphere is just better than SoR.. well, 1st turn drop Trini spells gameover for a lot of decks. SoR provides slowdown, but usually can't stop spells like FoW etc.
5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / U/G Oath on: October 05, 2004, 10:37:54 am
I'm trying to build an Oath version as well, because the Orchard seems like a great addition.
I'd personally go with 1 Colossus and 1 Morphling maindeck and perhaps 2 Trisks for SB against Welders etc.
Cognivore isn't worth a slot since it relies on the graveyard too much.
Morphling and Colossus are simply more reliable.

Don't forget Time Spiral  Very Happy
7  Eternal Formats / Creative / Alpha Mox: Real or counterfeit? on: February 12, 2004, 11:00:08 am
Did you check the corners of the front picture ? It contains small white dots if it's an Alpha (Or is this only for Beta?).  I don't really know if the Collector's edition contains that problem also.
8  Eternal Formats / Creative / Which budget deck is cheapest? on: February 12, 2004, 10:52:37 am
Goblin Sligh is indeed the way to right now when you want to play budget in a mixed metagame. Blood Moons, Pyrostatic Pilars, CotV, Artifact hate and PoP all are great weapons against almost all top tier decks.

Fish is only viable in a control-oriented environment, and even then, Fish relies heavily on red and therefore needs V. Islands and the like.

Well Goblin Sligh is pretty cheap, except for the damn Fetchlands. Damn expensive fetches. Everything else, though, is less than five dollars. Very Happy

Goblin Piledrivers are quite expensive too, and Piledrivers are pretty much essential in Gobbo Sligh.
