1  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / Re: 6/24/06 - Mox Ruby - 10 Proxy - Bloomington, IN *CANCELLED* on: June 23, 2006, 05:18:03 am
Maybe you guys shouldn't decide to hold your events on the same day as major magic events. Kinda like States. Just something to think about.
2  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / Re: 6/24/06 - Mox Ruby - 10 Proxy - Bloomington, IN on: June 18, 2006, 03:15:06 pm
I think myself and Jason are gonna make it down for this one. We are not judging States, and I said if there was a Mox Event the same day we should go to it instead. Smile

Should be a good time. It always is down there.
3  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Dearest Vintage Community (A letter) on: May 30, 2006, 01:30:15 am
I am a little late with my reply to this thread since I knew all about you retiring while we were hanging out watchin the Pistons. I don't post here that much either, but this needs to be said. Without one Mr. Justion Droooooooba. Myself nor my friend Jason would not have taken Vintage seriously. I don't know about Jason, but I owe JD the Mox Emerald that I won this past Saturday from Chicago. Without him educating me on the format, and getting us at the store in little Terre Haute, IN into the format I would still be terrible at the format. I don't think I am good be any means, but I am better than some people who play. Without JD I couldn't say that, I wouldn't have won my first piece of power, and I wouldn't have the privilege to have such a good friend. I mean really!  You were the first person I had to tell that I won. It ment that much to me that you know I won, I even said before the finals "If JD was here he would be proud of me right now." I really think I would not have even had a chance if you didn't take the time to test with me in the past. I can't play control that well, but I was on fire that day.

In closing what I am saying is that you will be missed in the format. More than any person I have ever played with. Just going to an event was an adventure in itself. I have a bunch of JD stories, but I will not share them right now. There is a time for that but not right now. I just want to say you will be missed in the game, missed at the shop when, and missed being in my town. It will be a long time before another person just shows up at our card shop and is a big enough influence to make us change how we Play, Test, and Have fun doing it.

I dedicate my win Saturday to you JD. It may not seem like much to some people, but it means a lot to me that you know I ment every word I said. Here is to the day when we get to shuffle up and play cards together again. Have a fantastic time in Japan, and give me a call tomorrow before you leave man.

Thanks for everything JD.

It should be a great time. This is the first convention we have ran the Magic for. I think it is going to have a good turn out. Hope to see a lot of you there.
7  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Question about Duress on: December 15, 2005, 12:39:08 pm
I think that since there is so much control right now in America. Duress could be a good call. I mean there were 3 CS decks in the top 8 of the last SCG event. It has always been a great card. The question I always found myself asking is if it should be in the main or the sideboard. If you run it you have to run at least 3 to make it worth the spots. Having 2 Duress doesn't help very much when you need it turn 1, or when you need it to play the turn you win to draw out the counters. Like UR said it is good on the offinsive. You could play Xantid Swarm to help. If you are playing slaver though I am not sure. It just depends on what you think the metagame is going to be.

Since I can't post this is the Magic Community Forums. I figured posting it here is the next best place. More people read this section anyway. So here we go...

If you are on Magic Online you may have recieved and email today from...

In this email he sends a survey about getting a new avatar on MODO. This is a scam I suggest not replying to this email seeing as how anything important would be said on MODO. Here is a copy of the email I recieved today ....

so that your email can be processed and you can receive your Avatar within
3-4 days.

Simply "reply" to this email and answer each question by putting a "Y"
Yes or a "N" for No after each question. if all information is not

1. Do you think you will play in Vanguard events in the future?
2. Have you had any trouble with our online Moderators(adepts)?
3. Have you had any trouble buying from the Magic Online store?
4. Would you play in vanguard events if they were free?

11  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: JD's Longawaited Gencon Report on: September 04, 2005, 01:06:39 pm

This is the best Report ever. I do however guess it is only that good because I am in it so much. Gencon was awesome, the Type 1 Community was awesome. It was  great to meet you guys, and the next time someone calls the phone and says it is PacMan I won't hang up. LOL.

12  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: FREE ARTICLE: Interview with Buehler - Want to Learn Meandeck Gifts? on: August 04, 2005, 03:55:38 pm
That was a good read. I am glad that someone who actually has some control over the game actually enjoys the format. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually make Vintage a major format like they did with Legacy. That would be great for the game.

On another note I like the impulses, because when you draw a like 3 Merchant Scroll it does such sometimes.

Great report JD. I sure can't wait until you get back to town in August. Then T1 Savagery will be back in the store.

My name is Chad McKenzie. I live in Terre Haute, Indiana. That is about an hour west of Indy on I-70. We are going to start having Type 1 5-10 Proxy events almost weekly now. I am friends with JDizzle who posts here. He infact is why I play type one. We have a store aswell which I work at and run all of the magic for. Full Moon Games. This saturday is the first event the prizes will be just cash for this one since I don't know how big of a turnout we will have. Starts at 6 PM.

If you want directions to our store or have any questions about how to get in contact with me email me Or just check the site.. If you also have any events in Indiana you want to post let me know maybe we can get something going. We have a decent Type 1 crowd and this seems to be the topic to tell everyone we are here.

Thanks for your time.
