Smmenen: SO far, all of the playing I've done has convinced me Cunning Wish deserves at least 1 slot in my deck.  I -MAY- try adding another one sometime soon.  However, I'm worried the deck will rely on just Wishing for solutions.  This will leave it VERY vulnerable to countermagic: Stop the Wish, stop the answer, and I don't like that idea.  But I think the one Wish is very deserving of the slot it has.

Rakso: You're last column made me laugh , I'm just hoping this doesn't start a huge flame war

Oscar,

I think that perhaps neither my report nor Matt's was clear enough.

One of the reasons that Origins was less legitimate was becuase that there were no final rounds.  When you listed that Matt played against the Mask deck in the finals - there was no finals.  Instead of finals, they just add an extra round of swiss (that was the round that I played Matt).

The very last match of the day was me versus Matt Smith -- the person who won that would win 2nd place.  Matt and I had already both lost and neither of us, under this structure where opp win percentage is paramount could have out "ranked" Paul and his mask deck.

Additionally, Matt admitted that Spelljack was crap from the very beginning of our match.  So, I don't think it fair to totally hold that against - I don't know how often Matt plays Type One, but I'm guessing he does it more for fun than for pure competition:

1) He offered me a draw, which I declined (and so he got second becuase I lost    ).

2) The second day he indicated that he just didn't care anymore and that he was really tired.

Well, I'm working at a summer camp right now so that is not feasible at the moment, but by mid August it will go up.
