And on to the report!
Round 1: Rob playing Sligh
Rob is playing my Sligh deck that he plays pretty much every week ;P.
Game 1: Rob drops turn 1 Cadet, turn 2 Cadet, Pup, turn 3 Bolt, bolt, Shaman. I in the mean time draw Meditates /w no helm out ;(
Game 2: I get turn 1 Helm and go off on turn 2.
Game 3: See game one
Round 2: Glen(a little kid etc)
He's a nice kid, maybe plays a few too many online games, but nice nonetheless. However, he's not really "in" to magic and therefore doesn't really have a refined deck, so he goes down in 2 pretty quickly.
Round 3: Bryce AKA kl0wn playing Legend Black unpowered even though he owns a Lotus because he wanted to make a point.
Null Rods are not very fun ;( But anyways...
Game 1: Bryce rituals out a turn 1 Rod which i force. I play some artifacts, go nuts for a bit, then pass the turn. He plays out a Flesh Reaver. I play some mana turn 2 and pass. His SECOND Null Rod resolves however, and I'm a bit nervous. In response however, I Impulse into Academy, then Vamp for Time Spiral. Next turn I spiral floatin ga blue from my City. I'm then able to go off after drawing some more artifacts, drawing more cards, wheeling off my City, then slapping down MoMa for the win.
Game 2: It's alot like game one except no null rods, so I'm able to go off easier. He hymned me Turn 1, but didn't hit anything critical, so I think I got a draw 7 off to win, but I don't remember exactly. I played him in the Semifinals as well, so I might be getting these games mixed up

.
Round 4: Brian aka Brian the Elder(we have 2 Brians, although I think the other may be older than this one

) Playing an unpowered Enchantress deck.
Brian is a really nice guy who lives in Pennsylvania(about an hour away in Scranton) but makes the trek every now and again to play some magic. The last time he was here he did pretty well, but in that time, more players became powered whilst he did not, making things a bit difficult for him.
Game 1: I get out a turn 1 Helm which makes my draw seven + artifact mana cheaper next turn. The turn after I play another D-Seven and Time Walk. I then go nuts for a bit, draw, and then play, Tolarian Academy. With a full hand and an unused Candleabra, that's game.
Game 2: He goes first, My hand is Academy, Emerald, Vault, Helm Twister. I draw Mana Crypt . I Twister turn 1, draw into a frantic search which gets me a Candle, I draw tinker soon, tinker into jar and then get another candle, Tutor for Mind Over Matter and win. TURN ONE BABY !!! It was pretty cool and he seemed as impressed as I was

.
Semifinals(We did swiss today) vs Bryce

playing Legend Black.
Our match was basically the same as the one before(Bryce, care to fill in the holes?

).
Finals: Josh O playing very bad Academy(Horn of Greed, Fastbond, Black Vise, Duresses, Mishra's Helix)

.
He didn't really didn't know what to do to build a combo deck, so he just kinda threw something together

.
Game 1: We sit there. We sit some more. He gets off a Stroke for 3 and an Ancestral, but still, we sit. He eventually plucks Crop Rotation for Academy, so I have to spend the whole game trying to Wish out my Capsize(Which I do eventually) But he strip mine's my Academy and replays his. I'm about to pull it out when he gets his Draw Seven's going and I don't draw Force of Wills, so he's able to win.
During game 2, a VERY confusing turn occured with Memory Jars on BOTH sides, so i'm not 100% sure how it happend, but I think youll get the jist.
Game 2: Ok, this was REALLY wierd. We BOTH end up with Jars in play at one point. I believe he Jars to try and deny me something, so the jar resolved, I attempt to cast Lotus, he Abeyances me in response, I Crop Rotation, but then HE Crop Rotations, so then in response to THAT _I_ Jar, but draw nothing, so his Crop Rotation resolves. HOWEVER, I made him jar into ACADEMY, so he has to get Glacial Chasm instead. He however draws Strip Mine( ) then regrowths it I believe(he ends up with in play somehow). HOWEVER, after all this he's left with only 21 cards in his library, So I tutor for MoMa and use it along with Mana Vault to draw 9 with a Geyser, then untap my Sapphire, and untap the vault 7 times to Stroke him out. ROAR!
Game 3: Same as game one, but I may have made a judgment error Wishing for Mis-D to steal his Ancestral. I get out my Academy, but after some wierd Twisters and stuff, he kills it. He tutors on his turn for Academy I think. I Jar, but run out of mana to Abeyance him with and he goes nuts for the victory.
Soooooo I lost the tourney ;(. This was my first time really -playing- academy, so I really didn't know how to sideboard which made things more difficult than they probably should have been. Any suggestions or tips would be great!
