Small nitpick:

Its Sligh (thats someones last name) not Sly (the characteristic).

What sort of deck was the B/G/U?

Sly sounds better since you never know when they will pull a pair of fireblast on you

Yeah, but it was Paul Sligh who piloted the deck 6-0 in the swiss rounds of US Nats in like 1996 (when US Nats was the hardest tournament in the world). Ironically, the deck's creator, Jay Schneider gets no credit (Even in JP's limericks   ).

The 6-0 at Nats was Dave Price, and he was playing mono-red beatdown, not Sligh. Sligh was played by Paul Sligh in Altanta at one of the first PTQs. The deck, designed by Jay Schneider was called Geeba.
It had funky cards like Orcish Artillery and Ironclaws Orcs.

Dave Price, for that matter, did not play just mono-red beatdown.  He played Deadguy Red, along with Finkel and Pikula.
