Alright first report ever so don't be too cruel.

Pregame show:  I was 9:00 when I woke up and I had to leave at 9:30 and still had to phone Richard to see if he was coming since he had Lams Power.  After I phoned his place and was told that he was still sleeping I log on to the net to tell Lam and Richard was already on MSN and I found out he was going.  Now the rush to pick up Andrew since I was already 15 mins late then to Richards to get him and we were flying.  We got there with plenty of time to spare then I saw the coolest thing.  BETA TIMEWALK at 401 convience and the little sticker said $370.  After a little debating I decided I needed an early christmas present. WOW!!!(look at avatar).  Then off to Hairy Tarantula's for som ASS WHOOPIN'.

THE DECK:
1 Signed Morphling
2 Morphlings
1 Beta Nivenyrral's Disk
1 Jap Nivenyrral's Disk
1 Foil Powder Keg
1 Powder Keg
4 force of will
1 Foil Misdirection
2 Misdirection
4 English Mana drain
1 Foil DCI Counterspell
3 DCI Counterspell
4 FOIL DCI Impulse
1 Beta Ancestral
1 Beta Time Walk
1 FOIL Scrying Glass
1 FOIL Teferi's Response
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Beta Braingeyser
1 FOIL Stroke of Genius
1 Fact or Fiction
1 Beta Mox Sapphire(picked that up at the tournament too)
1 Black Lotus
1 Beta Solring
4 Full set Mishra's Factory
4 Foil DCI Waste Land
1 AQ Stripmine
1 Library of Alexandria
1 set 3 Apac Island
2 Euro Island
10 Beta Islands

THE SIDEBOARD
1 Alpha Psionic Blast
3 Beta Psionic Blast
1 FOIL Rootwater Thief
3 Rootwater Thief
1 Teferi's Response
1 Scrying Glass
3 Beta Blue Elemental Blast
2 Maze of Ith

THE GAME: 12 people showed up I think I know not too many since it was thanksgiving weekend(some great planning there).

First Round-Lam playing Mono-U
game 1 I land stall at 2 for a few but manage to cast to kegs one building up to 4 and the other with no counters to stop factories.  Eventually I get lands and already have enough cards to play then somewhere along the lines i get a Scrying glass and then scry to see nothing and soon after he concedes to morphling resolving

game 2 side +4 thief +1 scrying -2 disk - response - 2 impulse
I get out a quick thief and steal the 1 and only morph from his deck and I know he has 1 in hand and he has his scrying glass out and is just srying at end of turn so i think he has no counters then lay a morph with MisD back up and he had no answer then next turn he lays his morph and I was stuck wishing MisD could counter.  then I pull a geyser off the top and go for 5 cards and wait for a keg which I eventualy  get and convince him to concede which he does.

Second Round-Paul(bebe) AoS
I keep a sub optimal hand having a Stripmine and a keg then i pull countermagic and stuff to set up for my EOT Ancestral while he looks for pieces.  He was mana screwed off the beginning so after my ancestral I drop a morph and goto town

Game 2 +4 Thief +1 Scrying - 2 Keg - Response -2 wasteland
He first turn ancestrals which I am ok with since I was looking forward to game 3 with a sub par hand but I win somehow I don't remember this game but he looked digusted since I beat him with his misdiected Squirel nest and I think he was a little bitter since I strips his land with the squirel nest in the first game.

Third Round-Andrew Petkovics(PhOeNiX) Sui
game 1 I start off alright and he doesn't give me much disruption so I counter threat after threat until h stalls me out then shade comes to help him and kick my head in

game 2 +4 Psionic Blast + Teferi's Response + 2 maze of ith -4 counter spell - 2 wasteland - Scrying glass
I get early maze and stall till I get stuff rolling and finish with a morph.  Oh yeah he consults both his edict out of the game.

game 3 I misD a hymn off a ritual nabing another hymn and hypnotic so that is 4 for 2 card advantage and was disappointed that I hit a hymn since I had another MisD ready but he never recovers and morph does his job

Round 4-Andrew Budgell(Khazgar-) Mask
i give him the win since he is my friend and we will both make T4

Top 4
Arend-mono U(me)
Andrew-Mask(Khazgar-)
Andrew-Sui(PhOeNiX)
Phil-TNT with only one work shop

Round 5 Andrew(Khazgar-) Mask
game 1 He mulls down to 5 and is playing combo so i get to play a no brainer match with morph kill

game 2 +4 Rootwater Thief +4 Psionic Blast +2 Maze of ith -4 counterspell -4 factory -1 merchant scroll -1 impulse
I get the beats by a mysterious 1cc creature

game 3 +1 Merchant scroll -1 Response
I think I tried hard but still got beat up

oh well At least I didn't lose to TNT at this tournament and Andrew gave me $20 for using my moxes to accelerate fat 12/12.

We will have to play it out again, but this time in the top two, and maybe I won't top deck like a king, LOL. Also right now my instructors are on strike so going to montreal with you guys should not be an issue and any spare moxen that you aren't using would be much appreciated...

I bet you wished you had followed the advice of my SB thread and PUT IN CONTROL MAGIC.  My friend Paul Play's Mask and I can tell you: Kegs and Control Magic wreck that deck.

I might try fully powered mono U in montreal because of mask and TNT but I hate not having factories since Sui will walk all over me

That's cool man, bring me a couple of ancient tombs then so I can still have the colorless accellaration. You gonna go with the phids and b2b as well?

Why can't people use the PM feature. From now on, keep all stuff like "bring me this" or the like to PMs.

Well, your MonoU handles the aggro matchup a bit better due to the Factories, but you hurt a bit against control due to no B2B.

I was stumped. I go second with Ritual Negator and you drop down Factory Razz

Hey. I was not bitter. I was being my usual incorrigible self. In fact I complemented you on your play. I was a bit taken aback by a misdirected Squirell nest though .

Strangely every control deck I played had a first turn strip in their hand. They are restricted aren't they?

I thought you were going to win it all and was a bit surprised at the final results. I played Sui and won easily rthinking it would be a tough match up. Then i got mono-blue, u/w control and rOSE. Those are tough match ups for AoS. My combine dgame record:
5 - 8

I did run over Phil's deck pre-tournament though so AoS does beat Workshop.

Since these tournaments were started by me and Leon supplies my decks, I usually just play whatever deck i think will be fun. Sometimes cards from my decks are used as prizes so I have to revamp each tournament.

As a final noter - You beat Lam didn't you! Everyone beat Lam! I never got to play Lam... thought I should add that.

I would like to see the list for the Mask deck. Leon didn't keep any deck lists so I'm SOL. I will talk to him tomorrow and arrange the next tournament. I will be playing Trinity Keeper 'cause Zherbus says it's good.  Hope i don't run into any mullets.
