Right now, I'm trying for a Type 1 Oath deck, but last night I decided to put some of my Oath stuff that I've got and put it together with some black cards (my Oath remains to be finished).
I really don't know what type of deck this would be considered, but maybe there is.  Oh, and it's just casual.  I haven't even tested it at all   .  I think it kinda sucks, but as I said, I didn't even test it yet.  I do think that the mana base is off, by alot.  Oh well.  Here it goes:

LANDS:
9 Island
11 Swamps
4 City of Brass
1 Undiscovered Paradise
1 Strip Mine
4 Mishra's Factory

SPELLS:
Blue
4 Counterspell
2 Capsize
4 FoW
2 Back to Basics
2 Flash of Insight
Black
2 Visara the Dreadful
3 Tainted AEther
4 Duress
(2 Hymm to Tourach???)
4 Dark Ritual
1 Demonic Tutor
2 Drain Life

Note: This is just a fun deck to play around with while I complete my Oath deck.  Please criticize on this deck, as I want it to keep me happy while waiting.  Oh, and as this is erally casual, don't suggest any duels or moxen, because I won't spend the money on this type of deck.  For my serious decks, yes, but this is just fun.

Thanks!

This is still for 1-on-1, right?

A general note: counterspells (reactive control strategy) and discard (proactive control strategy) donŽt mix up well for various reasons. So try to keep one part of them to a minimum, IŽd suggest to leave it at 4 Duress in discard department.

The Back to Basics seem out of place in casual and have bad synergy with your MishraŽs.
FOr my taste this deck needs some kind of gimmick, an interesting strategy, a whacky card to make use of, anything like this. Remember, if it should be a fun deck it should also be a little bit fun for your opponent to play against it.

B2B is not fun for your opponent. Try not to play hate cards in casual game.

counterspell and hymn together in a deck is hard to play. both require double color.

dark ritual also serve little here, with only half black cards.

I used to play Neither Shadow, Ashen Ghoul and friends for fun.
if you have Khabal Ghoul that would be more fun....

Alright, I guess black and blue don't really work together that well, I just thought it would be kinda funny because I've never seen alot in play.

Oh, damn, I accidently posted the first paragraph.  My bad   .

Ok, I'm actually playing a mono black deck now, but probably not like anything you've seen before.  It's like a black oath deck, but really, really bad.  Comment on it all you want, but just no power cards obviously.  I guess it's type 2 but I could put type 1 cards in too.  This is a really funny deck because is really unpredictable.

20 Swamps (No I don't want to waste any other lands on this deck)

4 Duress
4 Dark Ritual
2 Drain Life??? I dunno
2 Visara The Dreadfull
2 Stitch Together (Over Raise Dead because I have many insatants so I'll probably get threshold)
4 Hymm To Tourach
3 Tainted AEther
1 Demonic Tutor
Ummm..... I dunno this is kinda getting hard to make.

Any suggestions would be great.  Remember it's supposed to be FUN .
