About how much would it cost me to build the deck parfait? Where would be the best place to buy it and would anyone here happen to have one for sale? I don't really care about wb/bb or condition as long as the cards are tourney legal. Thanks for any help.

A quick calculation of mine out of the top of my head: Approximately 110 $. Surprisingly cheap, but this list seems to be a budget one without Lotus, Pearl and Moat. And I guess you won´t have to buy everything, also, many of these cards are easily traded for. And: Since Parfait is very popular among new players, you will probably be able to sell the entire deck once you got sick of it.

Personally I'd splurge and drop the extra cash for a Moat or two. Its really worth it, especially in a Metagame with lots of Black and Sligh. If you play unsanctioned (as many of us out in the sticks do) the deck will pay for itself very quickly. From my expirence with the deck, you're best suited not to play with Peal or Lotus. The deck is a bit slower without them, but they're just massive financial hinderances. The Moat is far more important than either of those.

Are you sure the moat is so needed? i find Humility to work great for my needs, the deck has enough lifegain and creature kill to deal without it. The lotus is realy nice in it though, esspecialy with the finds, but the deck can eassily run without it.

It depends on metagame. In my area, there's a lot of Void, Suicide Black, and Sligh, with Keeper and Combo being close seconds. Moat rocks against the three most common matchups, and neither Keeper nor combo is hard to beat for Parfait. Of course, I haven't played the deck for about a year, and I haven't had much of a chance to run it against TnT, which is emerging very quickly to replace Sligh, but the Moat is just as good there.

Call me ignorant if you wish (probably would be right) but I thought combo was parfaits worst matchup. The decks ultra slow start where it's most explosive opening is plains, tax, go (baring any stupid balance tricks that can't happen minus power) doesn't do much versus combo decks which go off second turn fairly reliably.
On the topic of moat, I think it all matters what your meta is. If you have lots of aggro decks, even 1/1s will kill you eventually unless you find your ivory tower, or your mesa. Moat is just...get to 4 land, win. Sui and Void are left with hippies as threats. Sligh is left trying to burn you out.
I believe that the humility is better versus things like morphling (of course), making it suited more for the higher control metagame.
Remember, call me stupid if you like, won't be the first time, Just my observations, Chris

Parfait with a blue splash from SB can beat Combo really well. I'm not fond of using Power to set this up, but if you have to deal with lots of combo, try adding Meddling Mage in SB and throw Tundra in somewhere, or use power artifacts for blue. Mox Diamonds, I have found, are quite effective in Parfait, as they give you extra mana sources while still allowing you to tax. Even without the splash, Abeyanceing a combo player to draw a counter, then using Disenchant can win you games. And Aura of Silence is obcenely good against most any combo. Of course, Pearl and Lotus help alot with getting this off, although I don't like to admit it.

If your going to splash blue (or any color) stick one or two of the basic lands either main deck or sideboard. This lets you tax to get it. The common colors splashed are green for things like sylvan and the invasion enchantment that protects all of your other enchantments. Red gives blood moon, which is very nice against multicolor decks. Black can provide Duress and a few of its retricted goodies and blue has its power and a few counters (wither arcane or mana leak). You mostly see red splashed, because blue doesnt work that well, same for black, and green starts growing into enchantress. Combo is very hard for parfeit, it relay depends on luck. Remember to leave mana open to chant, which can definetly save you and it might get them to play more carefully if they think you might abeyance them

Depending on what you already own the price can change around. But it is not very expensive probably $150 if you buy everything, including sb. That might include moat i'm not sure. On the topic of moat, that card is beautiful, as it can be game winning, and i found that your stp can kill most painful flying threats i.e. hippy . If morphling is a problem then humility might be the way to go. When buying cards you can go to carshark.com or the magicthegathering.net which are both reasonable sites.
Parfait is great, gotta love it
