 Peeps

I friend has just built a Grow-Atog deck, which murders everything I've got. The only thing I've found is Mono blue.
Is there anything out now that can keep up with Grow?
All ideas/ facts/ decklists welcome.

-THANKS-

I'm thinking of adding Submerge to my sideboard (for a Gro/Emerald Alice deck) for Tog matchups. Other spot removal like Smother and Swords to Plowshares work if you can get past the counters. Tariff and Topple may work, but they are only at sorcery speed, and Tariff is avoidable if they have the mana.

Tarrif is sub-par for tog because it only costs 3!!  You need to just add more threats to tog in your deck and they will not have solutions to all of them...

As a Gro and Zoo player i always found that River Boa was a vitual creature in the match up. If boa hit play them Niether Dryad or tog could make a Lethal hit without berserk.

Oath has potential to hurt gro. If oath counter wars a oath of druids into play then weaver and feeder can be pulled to end the tog and dryads carear. The oath player would have to be carefull to make sure weaver can be kept stacked with counters as usally a single hit is all that is needed form a Tog.

Your best chances stands at catering for the deck in your sideboard. One card does stand out universally and that is Maze of Ith. daboo is trialing these in his White Wennie at the moment. The advantage of Maze is that it can be run in any deck, can't be countered, requires zero mana to activate and stops tog and dryad regardless of berserk or swimmering wings. Only disavantage is that it can be wastelanded, still i think is benifits out wiegh the disadvantage.

Other tradition options include Tormod's Crypt/Planar Void, cursed totum, removal including plowshares and contagion.

 Peeps

Thanks for the posts. Thought of mono black, but it's a little to slow for grow. Counter-burn works sometimes, but not everytime; about 50/50.

Queequeg - I did think of Maze of Ith afterwards. Even though it can be wasted with Wasteland/Stripmine, most Gro builds don't run any Wastelands. Very good idea, something  the "basic" Grow can't kill.
