I just recently became interested in the stasis archetype and thought it would be an interesting deck to play. No power was added on purpose.EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm aiming toward a budget deck skeloton, I know about adding Force of Will ect..)

Current decklist:
Land:
4 Polluted Delta
4 Underground sea
3 forsaken city
8 Island
3 Swamp

Win:
2 Physcatog
2 Iron Maiden(Can be substited with also a black vise)

Lock:
4 Stasis

Support:
4 Standstill
4 Brainstorm
4 Lim Dul Vault
3 Thwart
3 Daze
4 Chain of Vapor
2 Powder Keg
2 Foil
4 Duress

Sideboard:
3 Chill
2 Propaganda
4 Blue elemental blast
2 Ivory Tower
2 Zuran orb
2 mana short

The sideboard isn't too good. I tried to make stasis as versatile as possible. Black adds speed and protection. When you add restricted goodies it just gets better. Physcatog may seem strange but it seems to me like an excellent card that can win in easily 1 to 2 turns. It is just like morphling in the old stasis decks. I have also been thinking about a possible transformational sideboard. It could have trix components in the board that could be switched out second game. It's just an idea.

Any comments on how to make the deck better are appreciated.

I played stasis for awhile, besides the fact that it looses to almost anything here is what i would suggest. Add a feldon's cane as a emergency reset button. Add the fourth forsaken city. My biggest suggestion would be to use serra angel as a kill instead of tog.

Sorry bout that post. You dont really need that. Run a black vise and  some more counters. Another really good card for this deck it thwart. Its a awsome counter for this deck.

Uhhh wumpus thwarts already in my deck and i did mention that adding restricted goodies helped the deck. This was including black vise. I guess I wasn't clear on it.

Phycatog has its merits. Adding Serra Angel I feel dilutes the mana base too much. It could become the traditional U/W build but then the deck trades speed for better locks and a better attacker. You may ask why I say speed in stasis and the build I was going for is a flexable adaptable build.(That is also budget) Phycatog can easily win the game in 1 or 2 turns since stasis is slow.

Green is the other possibility I see for the support color to blue. Land grant, Root Maze, and quiron ranger are all very synergistic but it lacks a good finisher.(Ok Morphling could work but I'm talking about green.)

I'm really wondering about the viability of stasis in the current metagame. I know most people will just say it sucks because there are other lockdown methods just as efficient. But if We condsider that not every environment is as competive as others lets see where stasis fits against these decks.

(I must have a knack for finding archetypes that were once good but now are long forgotten. I mean look, I play pox if that is any indication.)
