I guess I'm also a fan of red and black... who knew?
I always loved playing burn decks, the only problem being how easily they got screwed over if victory was not achieved by turn 2 or 3, and 3 is pushing it...
So I decided to take one of my all time favorite cards and include it in yet another one of the rogue type one builds... here goes nothing...
Dark Burn
(3 drops After Death hot sauce, 1 part absolut peppar, 1 part everclear 190, pinch of salt, light on fire and serve)

The idea behind the deck is simple- a quick burn down with black to add an element of control that mono-red burn decks lack. Duress can be one of the most amazing cards in type 1, and Forsaken Wastes counters pesky decks that pack life-gain, and have a built in defense against enchantment destruction.
-Card Choices-
4 Duress- Simple hand control. I don't think the power of this card has to be explained.
3 Forsaken Wastes- One major bane to the burn decks I have played is a recurring or large source of life-gain an opponent is packing. Forsaken Wastes not only stops the life, but reduces it every turn. I'm sure that anyone who has played a burn decks knows how frustrating it can be too burn an opponent down to 1 or 2 life, only to face counters or a lack of ammo. Wastes solves this problem.

There's a huge problem with this decklist. You have seven creature reliant spells and only eight creatures. I suggest chucking the Charges and Abandons for Ball Lightning and Incinerate.
Besides this, I see no reason to play Black in this deck. You already have Sulfuric Vortex to prevent life gain and it provides a faster clock. The only advantage for Forsaken Wastes is getting around COP: Red. Then again, Cursed Scroll already fills that role.
If you want to play old-school burn, do it right. Do it mono-red.

A duress so your pup doesn't get countered... that is very counterproductive. Instead play a mox monkey AND a pup. They probably can't counter both.
Duress works in Sui because it gets a MASSIVE threat (negator) through that cost a lot of resources (ritual + negator). In Sligh, you just throw out lots of cheap threats and try to race them.\n\n

Duress is not necessarily great hand control. You get one of their cards for one of your own, albeit you may pick something of better quality. Duress is to protect your "must-counters", of which burn has very few except the last few life points. The time you waste by getting rid of one of their answers is usless unless you have the pressure to back it up.
8 creatures with 7 pump/creature usage spells is not healthy. Legend Stompy which runs a creature base of 26 has only 12 pump spells, less than half the number of creatures. Reckless abandon is even worse as you lose one of your permanent threats to do a one time damage, more of a finisher card.
Fireblast is another finisher card. It's a great damage card, but hardly anyone ever pays the normal mana cost. Considering that you're only running 6 mountains, paying its alternate mana cost is going to hurt you big time.
Black Lotus is questionable here as well. Although it helps you reach threshold for your barbarian rings, you have nothing to power out first turn, save maybe the occasional pup + charge + abandon. Normal Sligh runs 21 mana sources, 16 permanent. You have 10 permanent sources, maybe 12 if you count the barbarian rings as half sources.
For the mere sake of putting in duress, you dilute an already unsteady manabase, and reduce your threats. Not good.
