Where are all these tournaments I keep hearing about? Jazzy Kat and I play in poughkipsie(sp?) NY every other week, but lately the turnout has been pitiful. The last tournament had a total of.....prepare your selfs.....

THREE PEOPLE!!!!!

Needless to say we did not play, but rather helped build a deck for the other guy that showed up.

So my question is, where are there weekly/ bi weekly tournaments within 100 miles of anywhere along the NY/MA border(we each live about 20 mins away from Hudson NY, I'm north, he is south). We don't mind traveling up to 2 hours, but anything more than that is too much. If anyone is looking for good competition with knowledgeable players, please pm me or post in this thread. Both Jazzy kat and I are craving to play against other serious players, and against people who generally enjoy the game. Thanks a lot in advance.

happy posting

There are a bunch of players on Long Island. We'd be willing to make a trip into the city, or even hold big tournies here. How far into LI would you be willing to go, if it all?

Long Island is about 3 maybe 3 1/2 hours away from me, so It would have to be a pretty rokkin' tourny for us to take the drive down. But, let me know if there is going to be any moxen or loti up for prizes down there, then I might consider taking the long drive. Thanks anyways though.

You may want to look into coming to the power tournies in either a) hadley, MA or b) waterbury, CT. Hadley holds a power at least once a month, and waterbury (or ray) holds exceptionally large tournies every now and then. just from mapquest it looks as though you're around 96 miles from hadley and 84 from waterbury (i jsut put in Hudson, NY as your location).

Both of these sites have AWSOME t1 power tournies and both are blasts to go to (i'm definately biast to hadley though, as I am a team member). Look on the t1 tournament announcement boards for when/where tournies are in the northeast. Hope to see ya around sometime.

Hadley and Waterbury would be great. Both are a reasonable distance away, and the prizes offered are most definitly worth the drives. I'll keep an eye on the tournament forum.
thanks

Disposable Hero's in Jonhston RI is not to bad as well.  Cape Cod has got some running monthly as well.  There's one every weekend in RI/MA/CN.  Every weekend.  So crazy....

Yeah- the best thing to do is just keep your eye on the tourney forum.

There are dozens of stores in the area, but the monthly (or close) tournies are

The Gathering in Cape Cod, MA
T&T Collectibles in Hadley, MA
Courtyard by Mariott hotel in Waterbury, CT
Gamer's Haven in Lincoln, RI

Other random tourneys usually pop up, such as ones hosted by Jeff Anand at BC (more to come soon), Disposable Heroes in Johnston, RI, among others.

Yes, watch the tourney forum as there is something every weekend. There is a T1 tournament allowing 5 proxys every Friday at 6pm in Hadley and every Saturday morning at noon. At least once a month (often twice) a piece of power will be put up on Saturday or Sunday there.

T and T collectibles, is that in Berkshire mall?? Or is there another one in Hadley. I went to the one in the mall when they offered up a mox(sapphire??), and once again when I thought a lotus was up for prize. Apparently they decided to change the prize at last minute, ended up being for two packs of mirrodin. Sucked. Anyways, I'll keep an eye on the forums.

there's a T&T in both places.  they run a type one for packs every weekend, saturdays at 3pm.  if enough people show up you can almost always talk terry into putting up something out of the case if theres something good.  I think the failing of the lotus tournament may have been caused by the fact that the local colleges went on break right before he was going to run it and he didn't think he'd get enough players.  Last week we sold him a time walk we won there so he should run a tournament for that pretty soon.  Hope to see you there.

sorry about my last.  I was talking to one of the other players from the area today and aparently he traded an ancestral for the time walk so it will actually be an ancestral that's going to be going up as a prize soon.  I'll post again to let the tmd community know when it's up.

Just to clarify this the TNT that Eastmen and MadManiac  are reffereing too is in the hampshire mall in Hadly Mass. I can personally vouch for it having great players, a great enviornment, a small but fairly good varitey of places to eat, and it is well run. Power tournmnets there are difinetly worth the drive.

The one purple hat talks of is different but I cant say I have ever been there. I do however know the owner of the other one and he is a fairly nice guy and also runs good torunies.

Game Masters in Fairlawn N.J. has T1 on sundays.
Usually 9-15 ppl (closer to 9 most of the time).
5$ was entry last I was there, winner takes the aggregate of all the entry fees in store credit.

The proxy rule is flexible there. Technically they play 8 proxy, but if you ask before the tournament, most of the time they will let you play more if you need to.

Every weekend in Johnson City we have a proxy Type 1 with small cash prizes, mostly just for fun.  It's a good atmosphere with a few TMDers(Myself, leviat, kl0wn).  JC is pretty close to Binghamton to give you some refrence.  PM us if you want more info.
