What is the reasoning behind nine proxies?

So everyone is on a level playing field.  The same reason any other tournament around the country allows proxies.

I think he means why nine instead of five, which is the norm.

Oh!  lol.

If I was the head TO it would have been 13, but he decided 9 was fine.

We went with nine because five basically only allows for powered up budget decks and not enough people around here have anything remotely close to power.

I don't want to start a debate about it, but that was our basic reasoning for doing nine instead of five.  Next time I'll push harder for 13.
