I live in South Minneapolis and truck out to to Dreamers once a month for the type 1 tourney, the rest of the time I hang out in a scrub meta.  Are there any coffee shop style locations that people play in in Minneapolis.  Are there any players inside the 694/35 loop?  I want more people to play with and can't seem to find any good spots.  Let me know where its at.
thanx

Dreamer's runs weekly Type 1 tournaments on Fridays @ 6:30 in addition to the once a month Sunday tournament for a P9.

I'm aware of that.  What I'm looking for is a place where magic players hang out and play inside the city.  I don't have a car, so getting out to the burbs and back on the bus is irritating.
thanx for the reply,

Phoenix Games at Lake and Bryant in Uptown.  Kinda.  There's a draft on Saturday and enough of the drafters play Type 1 for you to be able to squeeze in some games.

I've heard things about Monster Den at like 41st and Ceder but I've never been so I don't know if they have any T1ers.  I'm not sure, but I think that people used to go to Dreamers Tuesday late afternoons/nights to practice.  They also run a draft that night so chances are pretty good you could find someone.

I wasn't aware of the tuesday deal at dreamers.  Is the whole scene hobby store only.  I remember in 97 we used to play in the laughing cup, but the new coffee shop there has only scrubs whereas before you would see Lotus in casual play.  Thanx for the reply.

monster den has ok deals on power if youre hungry for some, but the t1 people there are few and far between (they mostly come to play halo).

if janky t2 and ext goblin decks are your idea of a good time, id head there, however i think once their name gets out, people will start to come there (and if they get any prize support). They really have a nice place, and i think enough room to comfortably fit 50-60 for a good type one tourney.

Im hoping someone will eventually come to the same conclusion as me.

As far as just finding games, people come to dreamers alot, additionally phoenix as mentioned, and even some of the local coffee shops (except uncommon cause their owners a dumbass and doesnt care about his clients).

Ive frequently met up people at pandora's or even urban bean for a game or 2.

where abouts in Minni are you?

I live on 19th and 1st ave south, Stevens neighborhood.  I can get to Pandora's easily enough, I've been there in the past but didn't see anyone playing, I can't remember where Urban Bean is, is that Uptown?  I remeber PLanB had a scene back in the day, but I went there a couple times and asked around, nothing has happened there for awhile.  I go to Spyhouse on 24th/Nicollet, but have only seen maybe 3 people play there.  I know there was a scene over at Hard Times, but I don't have a car and busing back is difficult from there.  I used to live over there in 97 or so, but wasn't playing as much back then.  Anyway, thanx for the tip about Pandora's.

I believe Urban Bean is 33rd or 34th and Bryant.  You've really met people playing type 1 there?  There's a place at like 19th and Nicollet called Zero Proof that holds regularly scheduled 1.5 stuff, but from what I hear, a good T2 Goblins build can clean house, so I wouldn't expect much.

Unfortunately, Minneapolis isn't great for T1, outside of Dreamers.  I'd love to get some sort of inner-city type1 thing going but work and school take up mosty of my time.  The only time that I could do anything on a regular basis would be Sat. afternoons after/during the drafts at Phoenix.  Would people be able to come if that was a regular thing?

There's generally a couple of people willing to play Type I after the morning draft.  I'm down there about 1/2 the time or so, and usually a couple of other people.
