Topic title says it all. I'm just seeing how far I can stretch the rules in this particlar area. I'm sure you are all aware how much I like cards that try to that.

Repression
1UW
Target permanent loses all card text on it until end of turn. Repression will not stop triggers already on the stack.

Does this work? If it doesn't, can it be made to work?

btw, if this wouldn't work with something like Maro, I'm willing to make it target non-creature permanent.

Doesn't this like break the rules HARD?  Maro always seems to note that "lose abilities" cards don't really actually work within the rules.

Good god, this is going to need 30 consecutive Saturday School's I just know it! While the idea is certainly interesting, it's going to cause massive rule problems. I don't even want to think about all of them. Some examples of this in the past are Humble and Humility, both of which cause creatures to lose all their text.

I don't like this card >.>, it hurts my brain. (As im sure it will for many others)

Is there like, even the remotest reason for printing this card? I can only imagine 2 uses atm, and those are Lich and Platinum Angel.

I think printing weird cards is ok, but this is really pushing it. And wtf am I doing posting here?!?

And I have no idea what you mean with "working with Maro" but if you mean that Maro dies when you play this on it, I think it does, seeing that *'s without supporting texts are generally considered 0.

Is there a clear definition of "card text" somwehere btw? All I can find is "rules text" and that's in the text box.

On another note, while Ancestral is clearly very very good, having it in your opening is hand is not. - AmbivalentDuck

If we have Illusionary mask, why not this?  Looks fine to me.

Because that is not how Illusionary Mask works.

I should have clarified that better.  "We already have one card with more errata than the entire Urza's block, why not another?" Very Happy

The problem isn't that this would need errata: the problem is that what this card does breaks the rules in fundamental ways. It's just not an option.
