Well, its that time again. Sitting in the afterglow of a large t1 tourney, and its report time. Usually you can reminise about what a great time you had and all that great stuff, but that wasn't really the case. I guess I'll start off with my decklist and write my report about the 4( even though its only 3 by the tourney's standards) I played.

Heres my deck I played:

Dryad Hate 1.2

Land:
4 Island
1 Forest
4 Tropical Island
3 Volcanic Island
4 Polluted Delta
1 Strip Mine
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Ruby
1 Black Lotus
1 Sol Ring

t3h beatz:

4 Quirion Dryad

t3h borkan:

2 Future Sight
1 Fastbond
1 Time Walk
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Timetwister

More cards for me!:

4 Brainstorm
4 Accumulated Knowledge
1 Gush
1 Deep Analysis

I'd rather you didn't do that:

4 Mana Drain
4 Force of Will
2 Misdirection

I really need this right about now:

1 Merchant Scroll
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Regrowth
2 Cunning Wish

t3h tech:

3 Damping Matrix

Do we really have to play again?:

1 Berserk
1 Firestorm
1 Oxidize
1 Naturalize
1 Capsize
1 Fact or Fiction
2 Stifle
2 Energy Flux
2 Ground Seal
3 REB

Pre Tourney bullshit:

I get up early and decide to hit Wendy's as per usual on the way, and this time they actually served me food. Bacon-Cheeseburgers are t3h mad tech. So I get lost on the way there (mad slops to mapquest for sucking ever so much), but manage to accidentally take an exit that gets me back on track. Major mize.

So I get there and the place isn't even open yet. Its 9:40, so I hang out outside for a few minutes until Stok and his crew show up and we get let in. Get deck reg done and wind up trading around for a while until my normal crew show up (Ben Taraskevich, Rauss Merraim, Mike D.) and I watch Rauss scramble around trying to get a deck built. I guess he just assumed I'd have all my random uncommons for FCG on me, which I didn't. Sucks for him. My friend Paul shows up and we just hang out and wait around for everyone to show and for this thing to get started. Ben Kowal shows up and Mike goes off to mize Illusionary Masks of Kowal, which he does because Kowal is hella cool like that. Rauss tosses Kowal some Robo-Jens and Trinispheres for his TnT deck, and the next thing I know, its show-time, only an hour later than advertised.

Round 1: One of Stok's boys playing FCG

Game 1: He goes turn 1 lackey, turn 2 siege-gang, turn 3 warchief and driver. Throw some mana denial in there and I packed it in for game 2.

In: 1 Firestorm, 2 Stifle
Out: 2 Future Sight, 1 Deep Analysis

Game 2: He gets turn 1 lackey, turn 2 Warchief. He swings, I firestorm his boys before damage. He drops Recruiter, I stifle the CiP ability, he plays Recruiter, we fight over it with counters, he wins the fight, but I stifle the CiP ability again. At this point he procedes to beat for 3 a turn again and again while I draw fetchlands for the loss.

0-1, 0-2 Delusions of winning are starting to fade a lil.

In between round 1 and 2, I trade for an Italian Mana Drain. Mize.

Round 2: Random cool guy playing TPS

Game 1: We both get slow draws, and he tendrils me for 16 around turn 5.  He has mana floating, and manages to find Will. I scoop em' up for game 2.

In: 2 Stifle, 2 Energy Flux
Out: 1 Future Sight, 2 Mis-D, 1 random card

Game 2: He plays turn 1 Swarm. Turn 2 when he announces his attack phase, I cunning wish for firestorm and blow up the lil critter. From there Future Sight resolves, I mana drain his tutors and draw 7s, and dryad goes all the way.

All the time during this match, I make about 1 billion wise cracks and get strange looks from Kerz, whose sitting at the next table. Now I'm having fun.

Game 3: He plays a land and says go. I draw and go island, ruby, sapphire, lotus, sac for green, play dryad, merchant scroll for ancestral, ancestral myself, go. I draw into Time Walk, cast it and swing. next turn I draw into gush, float 2 blue, gush into brainstorm and AK, and beat with a huge dryad. brainstorm revealed counters galore, and its all over.

1-1, 2-3 Feeling better now.

Pizza arrives and the announcement about having to re-play round 2 is given. Quite a few people leave, I opt attempt incite looting and a riot if anything else goes wrong.

Round 2.5: Random guy with bad.dec

Game 1: He duresses and hymns me. Whatever. Then he drops an island (wtf?). I drop dryad, do broken stuff with Future Sight and win.

In: 3 REB
Out: Don't Remember

Game 2: He duresses again, and I drop dryad. She gets big and then goes psycho all over his face.

1-1, 2-2 Record is better, but we wasted mad time.

Round 3: random guy playing sligh/goblins:

Game 1: turn 1 lackey, into turn 2 siege-gang. we're about done here.

Game 2: He draws soem creatures, i firestorm his board. I try to draw cards, he counters. I play 3 drayds, all are hit with incinerate. He then burns me out, and procedes to play 3 gang-bang commandos. Its all over.

1-2, 2-4 I won't place highly now so I drop and trade some more. Pick up my 3rd foil Skullclamp and 3rd foil Goblin Sharpshooter, watch my friends play in the t2 tourney and leave.

Props:

Rich, for winning.
Jacob, for getting second.
Pizza and Wendy's for pwning.
Everyone that stayed for the whole thing.

Slops:

Stok for having us have another round 2.
Mapquest for getting me and a lot of other people lost.
The weather for raining so hard on my way home.

Peace y'all

Hey.
You should have stuck around a bit longer, man. The were much more trades to be mised and the whole crew did eventually drop, so there was much more hang-out time. I think i played one more round than you did and commenced playing ravager affinity in the T2 event WITHOUT ravagers. Atogs are a crazy bad substitute i hear. I did beat ross tho. We can make more fun of him later. I did have to give the masks back to kowal too. Such a waste of 15 dollars(loan fee). Later, man!

Hahaha. Nice.

It's strange that people ask for money to loan cards. It makes sense, but it's sort of mean if you do it to your friends. And I am not sure I would feel comfortable at all loaning expensive stuff to people I don't know.

There's been a few bad experiences around lately.

I'm really appreciative of kowal for lending them to me, even if it did cost me $15. He has put a good deal of trust into me, cuz for all he knows, i could walk away with 'em for $15. I'm like a friend of 2 friends to him. It was just a waste of money, cuz i sucked so bad in the tourney. Its all good.
