Hi all,

here is the link with the results of our weekly tourney.

This one we have only 61 players and a lot of unpowered decks ( I think 50% of the total ).

For the ones who didn't want to click here is the top8:

1) Stacker
2) Keeper
3) Food Chain Goblin
4) DARgon
5) TPS
6) Stacker
7) Ur-Phidian
8) Stompy?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!?!! :shock::shock::shock:

I think that this top8 differs a bit from the last ones talking about innovative decks. Danilo "Benga" Benvenuti with keeper and Giuseppe "Siral" DeLuca wih DARgon usually Top8ed and do well with their own decks. Not so much to say about the other lists.

The 2 stackers are almost identical ( players of the same team ), TPS ans DARgon are the same decks from at least 2 months and the little surprise came from the good Powered U-Phid build that top8 and the monogreen who top8ed because of his high rating and steal the last top8 slot to 2 hulk and a Madness players.

I think that no Meandeck-slavery decks showed up, but 2 or 3 Contro-Slavery joined the tourney but didn't place well this time.

Good organization, prices and a lot of fun as usual.
Breakdown and reports will be edited soon.

The weirdest stuff about this Top8 is that even if Italian Top8s are always full of Workshop decks and Combo decks, Italian Keepers are still maindecking The Abyss and a single Gorilla Shaman.

@Toad.
I'm totally with you.
If ,for you, this is the "weirdest thing of the tourney", I can say to you that ( and I'm astonished more than you can think because I'm one of the others "NoAbyssMoreMonkeys" players...)  Benga is THE ONLY one that CONSISTENTLY TOP8ED and WIN with this old and subpar ( IMHO ) build...

He should have bad matchups against ANY Workshop.dec and ANY Madnes.dec without removals for critters,with only a Shaman and with those 2 high cc enchantments...

BUT... :shock:  :shock:  :shock:  :shock:

HE USUALLY WON ( he has more play skills than deckbuilding ones )...

Me and others with new and metagamed builds usually have to play well to place over 10th position.
Instead, he usually grab his   "6+ months"  old build and finishes first or second in swiss and smashes the opponent's face the top8.

iI hope that it is only the longest series of luck's jokes.. or I should have to talk to anyone HOW MUCH bad deckbuilding a Keeper deck can .... "just win entire tourneys... "

Smile

@womprax . finally Benga worked more those damned lists.. Wink

@OMG!!! the stompy one is the old Matt D'Avanzo Stompy .... anyone ( me too!!!! ) is
 talking about the inability of "total-aggro-decks" to win matches and an old stompy deck top8 in a 60+ tourney.... Sad .. i'm lost...  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

Against old-style Keeper decks, such a strategy is very devastating.  Against non-Slaver Workshop decks, going first means now you have three permanents immediately if your hand was efficient.  They have problems with fast permanents on the draw (see: Lackey, Goblin and Commander, Siege-Gang for examples) and going first helps a lot.
