I was looking at a lot of decks in the type 1 format, and started thinking, why not play energy flux in the side vs artifact heavy decks, and their seems to be a lot of them out there!  That card would pwn too many artifact decks. But then I thought man, it's blue!  Never the less, do you think it would be good tech or bad vs artifact decks?

what's wrong with blue? you get some of the most busted things in type 1 in blue
from an artifact deck player's point of view, energy flux is usually gg if i don't have a reb ready
it's been in use for quite a while, but the problem imo is in getting to 3 mana in your main phase with spheres, tangles and smokestacks out
still, if you can squeeze one out, you basically win

Mana Drain helps accelerate into the Energy Flux, not to mention you might top deck into a lotus or mana crypt, which with a land = an easy cast, and you can get rid of it too.  I recently saw a deck with energy flux in it's side, yus!  I just hope more people catch on to the busted power of this card.

Much like Null Rod, Energy Flux does indeed hate artifacts.  If you expect to see a lot of artifacts in an upcoming tournament, and can support the card with your manabase, slide a few copies into your board.  Simple as that.

Energy Flux has indeed found its way into some sideboards.  It was a pretty decent card vs. decks like Stax and MUD but it isn't so good vs. Slavery.  In the current metagame I think that cards like Serenity and Rack and Ruin are better choices.  They're answers whereas Energy Flux still lets your opponents find some outs.

Energy Flux has seen play for quite some time in sideboards if your deck could support blue.  But the problem is, as was pointed out a few posts before, is that with some of the newer Workshop decks (I.E. Slaver), they can often times wait to drop moxen and other accelerators until they are ready to go infinite if need be.  As well, with the newer Slaver decks, they are running counters, which wasn't the case in most older artifact decks.  You need to be able to stop them from activating their artifacts (Null Rod), or get rid of their artifacts all together (Oxidize, Rack and Ruin, et cetera).

if they're running counters, what makes you think they won't counter rack and ruin and the like?
to me, energy flux is more like serenity than any of the alternatives you mentioned
once it comes out, it's a major PITA and usually results in the loss of many many permanents
