I dropped the fetches and went back to four Shivan Reef...and I've been happy. I've had too many players realize that they could restrict me by wasting red sources...the stability of the mana base felt too compromised. As far as the board goes, Platinum Angel has continued to be a very severe beat-stick, despite players anticipating the "man-plan" 2nd game vs. nullrods. I'm still screwing around with the sideboard...so far blood moon and platinum angel are the only cards that remain constant.

Windfall was great in theory...but it hasn't pulled weight for me Sad I'm being really patient though, and plan on giving it at least another tournament before it becomes something else. I haven't missed that second ancient tomb yet, so that spot definetly doesn't need to be a mana source.

Where on earth did this discussion about not including library come from? That's completely nuts, library has been amazing in every possible way. This deck needs to run it...end of discussion

I played the deck in a large tournament during Easter. I ended up 4:th of 99 persons. The deck behaved well most of the time, but now and then (for example twice in the semi final) you draw starting hands which look like one of the following alternatives:
Alt. 1
Lot of Workshop mana
Lot of colored spells and/or Mind Slavers (see below)

Alt. 2
Some ordinary mana
Lot of expensive artifacts

In both of these cases, if I hold I will be stuck in a "hope for it" mode where I need to topdeck things i the right order. These starting hands are only the top of an iceberg. In the first few turns you need to draw mana, not only the right amount, but also the right kind. Getting just one land wasted might distrub this fragile balance. I run the mana base I suggested above, and the basic Islands were gold, but still something was missing. I just couldn't rely on getting the deck stable enough.

- Am I only blaiming my bad playing on my starting hands or have someone else also experienced this problem?

My plan is to try to remove one Mind Slaver and fit in whatever else instead, for example then Windfall (which I didn't run). I often find myself having a Mind Slaver early, but most of the time I cannot play it and the best I can do is to throw it to a thirst, and if I can play it, I cannot activate it until several turns later (one version of alternative 1 above).

- Should one Mindslaverbe removed to include something that stabilize the early turns. Then, should it be a spell like Windfall or more mana (LoA if not run or another Ancient Tomb)?

And that how it is...
