Psychic Venom (cost = 1U) :
Enchant Land
Whenever enchanted land becomes tapped, ~this~ deals 2 damage to that land's controller. [Oracle 1999/05/01]
Whenever the land is tapped for any reason (including by Twiddle or Icy Manipulator), damage is done. [bethmo 1994/10/01]

Is this card can be a new weapon for Landstill ? Combined with Rishadan Port, I think this card is very descent.

Let's compared Psychic Venom with Faerie's Conclave :

-Psychic Venom cost 1U
-Faerie's Conclave cost 1 (because it comes into play tapped)
-Psychic Venom can be activated without paying any mana if opponent choose to pay two life to use his land
-Faerie's Conclave needs to be activated to deals it's damage (three mana are necessary including the Conclave, wich one is a blue)
-Psychic Venom, when combined with Rishadan Port, cost two colorless mana to be activated and opponent loose his land for one turn. 2-1=1
-Fearie's Conclave have a good synergy with Nevinyrral's Disk
-Psychic Venom is an Enchantment, wich is the least feared permanent kind in our metagame presently
-Faerie's Conclave is a blue creature and non-basic land permanent wich is a way more sensible than enchantment

I think Psychic Venom/Rishadan Port needs to be considered because of these reasons. I'm waiting for your decklists !

1. Rishadan Port sucks hard.
    __a.Wastelands kill it
__b. you tap 2 lands to tap one of theirs
2. Port+Venom is 2 card combo that deals 2 damage
3. Conclave deals 2 damage by itself.
4. Disk kills your Venom
5. It breaks your Standstill while Conclave doesn't
6. The mana casting it is a waste because:
__a. It would be better off saving for a Mana Drain for their turn
__b. It will get Mana Drained early game-which is the only time it may actually matter

Psychic Venom only sees play while in Shandalar of Duels of the Planeswalkers-and even then it sucks.

what about in fish?  It would fit really well in the land/mana denial theme.  It would also be really good aginst dragon.  Put it on their bazaar and they die....well it really sucks for them at least.

OK, I have considered it: it doesn't make the cut.  Landstill does not need a clunky combo that deals minimal damage and that doesn't have synergy with the main theme of the deck.

Although Psychic Venom looks like efficient mana denial, it isn't. Your opponent can still use the land, and they definitely wouldn't do much damage to themselves. In other words: your opponent decides if this does anything, and that just doesn't work. It's far to easy t play around.

Psychic Venom is far too anti-synergistic to work with... standard LD would work better, and even that is a poor usage of slots...

Psychic venom against Dragon does not work: when their land is removed from the game from the CiP effect of the dragon, your enchantment drops. It is only their permanent which are removed from the game, and you are still the controller of the Psychic venom...

At best, they will take 2. Nice try, same player shoot again  Wink

actually if they had control of the board, they would easily take 2 damage.   it is not worth using 8 slots in your maindeck or sideboard, to shutdown landstill, because it is not that much of a threat.
