If the mods could please move this to the tournament forum, I'd appreciate it.

Sunday May 16th there will be a tournament at the Knights of Columbus in Somers, Ct hosed by Matt's Sportcards & Comics

Entry Fee: $15

5 Proxies will be allowed.

Registration: 9:30 AM
Start time: 10:00 AM

Prize:
1st Prize- Black Lotus
2nd- Mox
3rd- Box of Darksteel
4th-16th- TBD

Directions:
Knights of Columbus
236 Main St., Somers, CT
Take exit 47 E. Off I-91
Go straight 5.5 Miles and the Knights of Coumbus is on the Right

If any questions Please call Matt's Sportcards at (860) 741-2522
or PM me.

Other important information:

Matt is going to give the Lotus away, REGARDLESS of how many people show up. If you are the only one there you can buy the Lotus for $15  Smile
The rest of the prize structure will be based on attendance.

Matt is looking for 3 Judges to judge the tournament, you will be compensated. If you're interested, PM me or call the store and for more details.

Similiar tournaments will be held on 6/27, 7/25, 8/15, 9/26 and 10/10.

There will be a dealer on site, and the Knights of Columbus is located right of a main road, so there is plenty of places to eat near the site.

Anybody who can come down and support these guys will definetly have a good time, Matt is one of the best shop owners I know and he is "prepared" to lose money on this to get his feet on the ground for holding tournaments.

Sorry about the conflicting date with Zherbus' tournament, but Matt had to booked the location about a month ago.

Any questions please call the store or PM me and I hope to see you there.

Oh, no problem. Just keep on using my own site to work against me.

This is closer than the tourny in New Hampshire, sorry Zherbus.  I might be ably to mattend.  Are there any ideas on how many you are expecting?

Yeah, see I knew this would happen as I PM'd him. It just makes sense to play for a Lotus over a Mox. We may be cancelling NH because of this nonsense. If people will be specifically not attending the NH event because of this, let me know so we can make a decision.

Zherbus: it's little consolation, but I'm 99% sure that myself and a couple friends (1-4) are still going to yours, and if you continue having them, we'd probably attend those as well.

Is it possible to just delay one weekend? Has past experience indicated people will drive to tournaments two weekends in a row?

The only problem with delaying a weekend is that the following week is the pre-release for fifth dawn.  I am not sure if this concerns anyone but I know I will be attending that. '

First, I was first and shouldn't have to... especially with a busy life such as mine, the next weekend isn't viable. Secondly, if the Hadley crew, Firebirds crew, and Ray/Jarad from CT can all make it, mine will have enough people for sure in addition to the NH locals. So far my feedback has been acceptable, so we'll likely still hold mine.

I know the Maine crew really doesn’t matter...

But the NH is way closer to us then Conn.
If my friends and I go anywhere that weekend it will be for Zherbus.

Regardless, I do hope both of you have good enough turn out to do it again.

On a side note:
As much as a bummer as it is when this happens, isn’t it kind of awesome that we are having so many power tourneys lately? I think that is in no little part to this site, so I guess you can take some consolation in that.

I think it's great too. It'll be really impressive to our area (NE) if all 3 tournaments on THAT sunday succeed.
