This one's not confirmed yet, although the words do come out in the Sphere... Pretty interesting if it ends up confirmed...

Summoner's Egg 4 (R)
Artifact Creature
Imprint -
When Summoner's Egg comes into play you can remove a card from your hand , face down.
When Summoner's Egg is put into a graveyard from play turn the card imprinted on Summoner's Egg face up. If its a creature card, put it into play under your control.
0/4

If this card turns out real, I'd say it's pretty interesting on how they seem to be anticipating the rotations for extended... or at least making a set similiar to Urza's Destiny...

Powder Keg - Engineered Explosives
Masticore - Razormane Masticore
Pattern of Rebirth - Summoner's Egg

3rd sets in the block are always full of powerful effects.

End-of-Block Bombs

Weatherlight: Null Rod
Exodus: Survival of the Fittest
Urza's Destiny: Yawgmoth's Bargain
Prophecy: Spiketail Hatchling
Apocalypse: Pernicious Deed
Judgment: Wishes
Scourge: Mind's Desire

Yeah, Prophecy really sucked it up. Probably the safest thing to do at the time, I suppose.

Sylvan: that list proves little. Almost all sets have t1-worthy cards. What Jacob meant (or at least I hope so!), is multple powerful effects that were/are strong in multiple formats.

I was just comparing the biggest bomb from each end-of-block set in a fashion that would only take me a few moments. Feel free to look at my articles for the more scholarly, thorough proof of Prophecy sucking. :-p

Prophecy had Mageta and Chimeric Idol and Avatar of Woe - cards that have seen play in Extended and Standard.

And Aura Fracture! Abolish too, for what it's worth. And Foil, and Spiketail Hatchling, and Withdraw. And a whole bunch of casual stuff like the Winds.

Sets like Alliances, Exodus, and Destiny are what gave the third set a repoutation for being overclocked. Apocalypse and Judgement kept that tradition going. Scourge I felt was disappointing, since their "high casting cost = good" theme kind of neutered the whole thing right out of the gate.

Scourge also brought us Decree of Justice and Goblin Warchief, both VERY GOOD cards and not that hard to use.

I only rarely think about these formats when I'm contemplating what I got out of a set.

Scourge was incredible for T1. Not just with Storm, but also with Xantid Swarm, the aforementioned Warchief and Decree, and Stifle (though JP thinks it's overrated and I partially agree). I'm actually pretty impressed with it, in retrospect, though I remember not being excited about it at the time.
