Alright boys, after a long layoff, and many times finding out what people want, it's officially on.

Saturday, June 19th, at Gems, in La Mirada, we're going to be holding the next power T1 tournement.  Once again, it'll be a $15 entry fee, 5 proxy, power tournement, with an ex unl signed Mox Jet up as prize.  There will be additional cash prizes as the attendence allows, and we'll for sure do a cut to either Top4 or Top8, depending on numbers.  The store has been moved to the other side of the same shopping center, allowing for much more room.

Info-
Saturday, June 19th, at Gems Comics and Cards.  $15 entry fee, with $14 on every $15 going back into the pool.  1pm start time.  Gems is located at 14934 Leffingwell, La Mirada, CA, and can be reached at (562)941-1403.

If you have any questions, need directions, etc, e-mail me, and lemme know what's up.

Pat

I'm not gonna hound anyone for a deck, but if I can get one in time you can count on me being down there.

Bizzump!

I wanted to get a final nose count on who's in and who's not, plus hear how things went in Vegas this weekend.  Drop me some pm's, or even post your plans here, and I hope to see you next Saturday!

I'm planning on being there, and I think Tony is too.

I'm probably not gonna make it. Might go and say hi though, and get something to eat.

Pat,

I think it's important to remind everyone that this tournament will NOT allow 5th Dawn. We had one person DQ'd on Friday night for making that mistake.

More than that, I've had a couple people asking questions about proxies.

One- Fifth Dawn will not be legal for this tournement.  Like David said, it doesn't become legal until the twentith of this month.

Two- Proxies must include Card Name, Casting Cost, Oracle text, and P/T if applicable.  Most importantly, they must be indistinguishable from regular sleeved cards.

If you need directions, go ahead and drop me a PM and I'll see if I can help you out.

How are we supposed to fit all of the lines of Oracle text for Illusionary Mask on a proxy?? It doesn't even fit on a single sheet of paper using 8-point font filling up the whole damn thing, so I'm not quite sure it's all going to fit on a Magic card.

I know a few guys from San Diego are coming up. Can we get some predictions about how many people will be there, and who will Top 8? I don't need your opinions on who's going to win though, just who'll be playing for second place...

Total players- ~30.  I'm expecting slightly less this time than previous simply because several guys have backed out due to vacation, random etc..

Top8 predictions-

Hell, I have no idea, 'cept to say I'm probably not gonna be in it.  I'm gonna play something interesting.

Wait, I have another one- JACO will extend his unbroken streak of like 100,000,000 tournements in which he hasn't made top8.

I think I'm scheduled to be in the Finals this time.

Or maybe it's Eddie's turn...

I don't think anyone at this tourney can threaten to break JACO's streak, let's face it, the man misses the Top 8 like nobody's business. Very Happy

That's what happens when you go undefeated, but you're 2-0-4.

I predict that Top 8 will consist of 2 Keeper, 1 Hulk, 1 GAT, 1 RUG TnT, 1 Dragon, 1 TriniStax variant, and 1 rogue/random deck. I will beat Keeper in the finals, and Pat won't make Top 8 because he didn't side out his Hymn to Tourachs against MADNESS. Also, Akuma/Gio will make up some weak ass excuse about his woman wanting to spend time with him or some such nonsense, and won't even be in attendance for like the 7th straight tournament.

In short, Team Meat won. There were about 32-34 people or so, Bob.dec was all over the place. Pat (Tracerbullet) placed first with Bob.dec, beating Sugrim in the finals. I placed twelth playing Negro Bob. The tourney lasted roughly 9 hours. Good times.

For the uninformed, TracerBullet's "Bob.dec" is Germbus.

I fininshed in the Top 8 with my own 7/10 build (not 7/10 split), as follows:

Bob.Titan.dec, David Hernandez, 6/18/04

4 force of will
4 thirst for knowledge
4  brainstorm
1 ancestral recall
1 time walk
1 fact or fiction
1 tinker

4 goblin welder
3 gorilla shaman
1 wheel of fortune

3 sundering titan
1 triskelion
2 Juggernaut

3 blood moon

1 memory jar

1 black lotus
1 sol ring
1 mox emerald
1 mox sapphire
1 mox pearl
1 mox ruby
1 mox jet
1 mana crypt
1 mana vault
3 gilded lotus
4 mishra’s workshop
4 volcanic island
3 shivan reef
2 glimmer void
1 tolarian academy

i had to play against 2 hulk decks (I lost to one (i drew well but he drew broken. I beat the other), 7/10 Split (we ID'd), Sui Black (I won), and Germbus (I won). So I was 3-1-1 with the best tie breakers and went into the top 8 as 6th seed.

I played against Sligh in the top 8 and lost to mana screw 1-2. I hate that.
