As the Type One season nears full circle with gencon on the hypothetical horizon, it has come to my and a few other's attention that it would be useful to form a team. One might say that this is the "formative age" of Type 1, with TMD being essentially the sole purveyor of knowledge and tech. As such, a team has the potential to severely improve performance of those involved, as well as have the potential to actually make an impact on the format
As I do not live on the East Coast, and in a fairly stagnant area in terms of t1 (been getting better though), it has become a necessity to hone my skills online. To the point--I feel that a team, provided good players are involved, would be extremely benificial to those involved, in terms of both playskill, and deck building ability.
Members of the team would serve as competent playtesting partners, innovators in new deck building (because many minds, make for many squabbles--however they also make for much progress).
Prerequisites for being on the team would be a reasonable level of playskill (obviously), as well as time to playtest, build decks, and conduct discussion (also obvious)
Because i don't believe that any team will be in the same area, testing and discussion will be conducted mostly over AIM and mws/ apprentice. If you are interested, post, pm, or aim me. Before accepting anyone, I'd probably like to ask you some questions, just to make sure you are resonably competent, with a grasp of the metagame and how decks function, as well as conduct a few preliminary games over mws/apprentice.  Myself and some others will determine who, of the applicants will actually be on the team, which will ideally be 5-10 people. Again. If interested--contact me.

I never invested in Type 1 cards because time and money constraints prevent me from going to tournaments.  So I don't have basically anything.  But, for what it's worth, I will be in Chicago next year, and I'd be happy to help play test with proxies occasionally, assuming UChicago doesn't keep me too busy.

Also, even if I don't join the team, I'd be happy to sell origami creature tokens.

If I don't join a team soon, I want to form one of my own. I would like to be able to play locally (haha by locally I mean, in the five states around the one I live in, being VA, KY, TN, GA, SC for the geographically impaired. The region where I live, WNC, is actually pretty close to all of those states. Just look at a map and it will make sense) with some members of my team so that playing tournaments would be a reasonable option, but if I can't have that I still need people with whom I can practice, test, and develop ideas with. I would like to know if there is a similiar response/desire among those to who this would apply. I think it is inevitable, like you said, that the team as a whole remains separated geographically, but this merely prohibits IRL testing and playing. Any PMs on the subject are welcome.

EDIT: My retarded grammar. Thanks ske.

I'd also be interested in starting or joining a team. If there's anyone in the New England area that's interested, please let me know.
