Can a single Chalice counter all copies of a spell with storm? For example, does a Chalice set at 4 counter all copies of a Tendrils of Agony?  How about a Chalice for 0?  I'm fairly certain that the storm copies have no casting cost so that no Chalice will counter them, but I want to make absolutely sure.  Thanks.

Two things.

1.  Yes, the copies have a mana cost.

2.  No, they won't be countered.

Chalice only triggers when you play a spell.  Storm does not play spells, it puts copies on the stack.

The original storm spell would be countered, but the copies would be unaffected.

I'm sorry Jebus but I disagree. As stated in the rules,

502.30.Ruling.4 - Spell copies can be countered and otherwise affected just like any other spell. [D'Angelo 2003/04/30].

That means that you can counter individual storm copies and that CotV DOES counter all copies of it as well. As a side note, stifling the storm ability will counter all the copies but will do nothing to the "original".

This is only my opinion and I hope I'm not wrong  Embarassed.

You are wrong.

Storm copies can be countered just like any other spell.  I never said they couldn't.

However, since they were not played, the copies will not trigger CotV, so Chalice will not counter them.

Chalice of the Void
{X}{X}
Artifact
Chalice of the Void comes into play with X charge counters on it.
Whenever a player plays a spell with converted mana cost equal to the number of charge counters on Chalice of the Void, counter that spell.

Jebus is correct... and further, Stifle wont counter all the copies with storm... it counters the storm trigger, so those copies are never put on the stack.
