http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/feature/220Paul Barclay is trying to set some 'standard' rules. As most casual groups tend to follow official guidelines this is important. Highlights include no play/draw rule and some permanents you control but don't own leaving the game when you lose.
In general it looks like a reasonable set of 'standard' rules for multiplayer, remember that you can and will be using variants anyway but the sets the 'norm'.
