With Kamigawa coming and its oriental flavour, I come up with this:

Seppuku
2WW
Enchantment
Sacrifice a creature: Gain life equal to its mana cost.
Through this sacrifice, your honor is regained.

Dealing with honour, this ability is definitely white, even if white rarely command sacrifice. I'm not too strong with casting cost, so I went for something in the line of Angelic Chorus.

Now for questions:
1) Is it too strong?
2) Is it playable (in any format)?
3) Does this make Diamond Valley obsolete?
4) Can somebody improve flavour text please?

Official wording:

Seppuku
2WW
Enchantment
Sacrifice a creature: Gain life equal to its mana cost.
Through this sacrifice, your honor is regained.

Worthy Cause.

This is not different enough in my opinion.

Yaeh. It is a lot like Worthy Cause, but Seppuku needs only one investment of 4 mana and then, you activate it at will. Worthy Cause needs 3 mana each time. This makes a huge difference.

this card is really good.  Sac a creature that is about to die for life!?  When will the madness end!?

If this is like Worthy Cause, then change it around or something...

It's ok. I think casual players would like it. But when your creatures are about to get axed by wrath or balance or whatever, the life gain usually makes little difference to the control player. Just examine swords to plowshares. How often does the life gain really matter? And at 4 mana, it's just to slow these days. Games are won and lost by the 4th turn. Still doesn't mean it isn't worth seeing print, someone would have fun building a deck around it, just don't think I would see it in a winning deck.

I think that while Kamigawa has japanese influences, they aren't going to be using terms like seppuku or the whole Bushido directly--just stuff that evokes that whole mythos.

In other words, you should change the name.

Mana cost includes colour, which is confusing.  The abiliy to should be templated with converted mana cost, IMO.

Maybe lower the casting cost a little because it seems weak, also remember an effect such as this would be uncommon or rare.
