I have been playtesting quite a bit today, and earlier I noticed a trend.  Whenever I was playing with strips/crucible in a deck I found that I could win more consistently if I tried to go for this plan.  So I started fitting them into other gameplans and the same really held true.  I was literally playing with Hulk and winning more off the power of crucible/wasteland than I was wish/berserk.  Anyone else seeing this?

It may be that the current format values graveyard removal not as high as when dragon was popular. The other possibility is that with all the decks being multi-color (as is almost required) the inclusion of duals just make a great target. Now were you testing against decks that also held the crucible/x-land combo? That may be why you were winning.
