I always wanted red to get a topdeck tutor, unfortunately the only thing left for it to fetch would have been lands, but now sylvan scrying does that, so instead, I decided to give it more of a Merchant Scroll/Mystical Tutor/Vampiric Tutor aspect.

I think this card would greatly benefit sligh as it  would allow you to grab Fireblast, Bolt, Incinirate, or it could be used possibly in fish or some other red based control deck by getting fire/ice or pyrokenesis.  Heck it can even grab a Fissure, the only instant LD in MtG.

I believe that the question is not how this would benefit red, but why red should get this? Topdeck tutors imply planning, which is red's weakest point. Furthermore, this really feels like a cobbled together copy of other tutors. You've taken Merchant Scroll's ability and given it to red, while using part of Vampiric Tutor's cost, then increased the mana cost to make it all seem plausible. I don't think that this is a good idea.

You could make this a "punisher" type ability--just give your opponent the choice between you getting a demonic and them taking some damage.

Surely red's Merchant Scroll would fetch sorceries.

Anyway, if red is allowed Burning Wish, I don't see why it shouldn't have a tutor. It just needs a red disadvantage to go with it.

I think only the punisher mechanic is sufficiently different to warrant a new card. Killing creatures for personal gain is Black IMHO, Red might accidently kill a few of its own but it should be collateral damage. Marco's suggestion looks pretty good, I thought 5 damage was too much at first but compared to Pulse of the Forge which only hits players I guess is is OK (you'd just take the hit against combo and lets aggro fetch what it likes, most aggro has no room for tutors anyway).
