Mind Leech
2U
Creature - Leech
~this~'s power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in target opponent's hand.
Whenever ~this~ damages a player, that player may draw a card.
*/*

Obviously weaker than Maro but still potentially a turn 3 7/7 (or a 0/0!). The CC is 2 less than Entropic Specter because it hasn't got Flying or Discard, Blue should be more adept at dealing with intelligent opponents and giving opponents cards is a bad drawback (also one previously used in Blue).

Current wording
Mind Leech
2U
Creature - Leech
As ~this~ comes into play, choose a target opponent
~this~'s power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in target opponent's hand.
Whenever ~this~ damages a player, that player may draw a card.
*/*

Shouldn't this have some form of evasion though? Right now, it's just really bad right?

edit: Shadow would be really flavorful, since essentialy, this card means that the opponents hand(cards) are attacking him! If that isn't 'shadowy', what is? :p

Didn't all of my threads used to start with people saying the card was too powerful and I had to water it down. I appear to have entered a parallel universe where my cards are considered too weak.

I'm fine with a card that could be a 7/7 for 3 mana.

Would you believe that second ability used to be this:
0: Target opponent may draw a card, if they do ~this~ gains Flying

Fair in duels but baaaaaaaaaaaaroken in multiplayer.

I actually thought people would bitch about the P/T so I didn't tag on any evasion. I guess I could modify that old ability so a player attacked may draw a card before blockers are declared but this is a bit 'fussy' and less likely to mean anything in a game.

Other options include allowing you to change the target, switch to an opponent with more cards or even switch to whoever you attack with this (and I guess block).

With the current wording, if you can find a way to have it damage yourself, you draw a card. I think that's worth preserving.

Good point, I think it would amuse a number of casual Blue players. I suspect most Constructed players might find other Blue cards that allow them to draw cards.

Like Wizards, I prefer to use the description 'skill-tester' rather than weak to describe a card that has the potential to be good but in 90% of games is less than stellar.

I was considering removing the 'may' from the card draw. On those rare occasions when your opponent doesn't want to draw, this creature could them force them to!! I suspect it would not raise the power level of this guy too much  :wink:

I'm having issues with your creature's CSA.  You have a static ability that targets, but never a time that that target is picked.

You need something like "As ~this~ comes into play..." to get things going.

Yes, but just noticed your second ability has an issue.  "If" should be "Whenever".  And "any" could be just "a".
