Are language barriers are problem for global magic players?

I'm curious as to how you guys play.  Do you just let the cards talk for you, or do you just ramble on is some crazy lanquage dropping a card name here and there?

Now that I think aobut it, the latter would be pretty funny...

From what I've read in WotC PT coverage, lots of times people just use English as the lingua franca (for instance, while preparing for Worlds 2002, the South American contingent used English since like half of them spoke Spanish and the other half spoke Portugese,) and if one person doesn't know it they just let the cards do the talking.

It's good to be at least somewhat fluent in a second language if the worst happens.  I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure that in Europe where there's a high density of different languages, being able to speak a popular two would be good enough to get by.
