The place I started working yesterday has an excellent website.  They are trying to find a tool that will conduct searches internally, that is, within the site.  They tried to use Google, but Google wanted $45,000 to install their search technology on the site.  That is simply not doable.  The big thing is that the search engine needs to be able to do Boolean searches.  Any recommendations?

Can't you do that for free?

I thought they also used to offer a Web Service that you could make use of if you had some Web Service development proficiency.

Um...all that will do is give him a Google search bar that searches the intarweb, like Google normally does.

He wants a search function that searches just their website.

Um...am I missing something here?  The below quote is directly from that linked page:

"If you want visitors to find things easily within your web pages, add Google Free site search as well as web search. Just copy and paste the boxed code into your site, then replace the words "YOUR DOMAIN NAME," which appears three times in the code, with your own website's actual domain name (e.g., http://froogle.google.com).  "
