Endicott, NY Tourney 9/25/04
This is my first tourney and tourney report. Nothing eventful on the way to the tourney, nor did we experience any near death accidents. So I'll just get right into the rounds.

Burninator
Mana:
15 Mountain
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Ruby
1 Sol Ring
1 Chrome Mox
1 Lotus Petal
1 Mana Crypt
Critters:
4 Gorilla Shaman
Burn:
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
4 Fire/Ice
4 Price of Progress
3 Fireblast
2 Shrapnel Blast
Other:
4 Pyrostatic Pillar
3 Ankh of Mishra
1 Black Vise
1 Fork

Sideboard:
3 Rack and Ruin
3 Fractured Loyalty
3 Blood Moon
3 Red Elemental Blast
3 Tormod's Crypt

Next time I think I'll go with -1 Mountain, +1 Ankh or possibly -1 Chrome Mox, +1 Fork.
Sideboard I think I'll want to go with -3 Blood Moon, -3 Red Elemental Blast, +1 Rack, +1 Big Frac, and +4 Pyroblast.

Round One, Game One Opponent: Matt?? with Burn.dec
The only permanents he plays are Wasteland, Strip Mine, and Darksteel Pendant. I burn him out quickly. I see him discard a Pillage and an Aftershock I believe.
Life Totals: 18-0, Record: 1-0
Round One, Game Two
I don't bother to board against whatever his deck is. We go Chain Lightning for Chain and Lightning Bolt for Spark Elemental. He gets me to one life with an Elemental and we draw go for a few turns. He's at four life so I can't Chain him since he has two red up so I need to rip something soon. I draw a Lightning Bolt and pass the turn hoping he plays a land with my Ankh of Mishra in play. He plays a Mountain and taps out to play Ball Lightning. In response I Bolt him for the win.
Life Totals: 1-0, Record: 2-0, 1-0 Overall

Round Two, Game One Opponent: Sean with TPS??
I can assume it was TPS being that the only lands he played were Island, Underground Sea, and Tolarian Academy. I also saw a Frantic Search and Mind's Desire which pretty much cemented the TPS idea. He empties his hand quickly and with the last card he casts Windfall. I look at the four cards in my hand and try not to laugh. In response to the Windfall I Lightning Bolt him, PoP him for six, and sac two Mountains to Fireblast him. I discard the Mountain in my hand and draw into Chain. GG TPS.
Life Totals: 18-0, Record: 3-0
Round Two, Game Two
I don't bother to SB and Game Two went the same as Game One. He gets stuck drawing mana source after mana source and eventually plays a Mind's Desire for three. He Desires into Ancestral Recall, Chain of Vapor, and a land. I'm almost positive his Ancestral draw was an Island, a Polluted Delta, and a Mana Vault. I had a Fork in hand but decided not to Fork the Ancestral Recall instead opting to win. I get him down to four life and I cast PoP for six. With the last card in hand he taps out to hard cast Force of Will. I Fork the Force of Will to the Fork and win.
Life Totals: 20-0, Record: 4-0, 2-0 Overall

Round Three, Game One Opponent: Terry with GAT
I get to play at the top table as the eighth seed. Dryad hits board: Dryad gets burned. Pillar and Ankh do the rest.
Life Totals: 20-0 Record: 5-0
Round Three, Game Two
I side in my three Fractured Loyalties for the Dryads and possibly Tog. I kept a solid opening hand and eventually resolve Big Frac on a 6/6 Dryad that's been beating down. Somehow I draw into nothing but mana sources and no burn.
Life Totals: 0-10, Record: 5-1
Round Three, Game Three
I draw inf lands.
Life Totals: 0-15, Record: 5-2, 2-1 Overall

Round Four, Game One Opponent: Justin with something (sometimes I wish Burninator wouldn't win so quick)
Lots of burn.
Life Totals: 18-0, Record: 6-2
Round Four, Game Two
I have no clue as to what he's playing and don't bother to board. He plays first and goes land, Mox Jet, Sphere of Resistance. I go Mountain tap it Lotus Petal. He goes land and another Sphere. I Wasteland him into oblivion and  he dies under his own Spheres and my burn.
Life Totals: 18-0, Record: 7-2, 3-1 Overall

Round Five, Game One Opponent: Richard with something that had Workshops
Lots of burn again. All I remember seeing are two City of Brass and a Workshop.
Life Totals: 18-0, Record: 8-2
Round Five, Game Two
I think I sided in three Rack and Ruin. Not sure how I lost but I think I got stuck on two land and he got Trinisphere and the Crucible/Strip lock going.
Life Totals: ??, Record: 8-3
Round Five, Game Three (my best game of the day)
I say Mountain go. He plays a first turn Shop, Mox, and a Trinisphere. I cringe slightly but with a Rack and Ruin and Mountain in hand I'm pretty confident that I'll draw a third land. The third land takes forever to come but luckily he draws into nothing but mana sources. He does however manage to play a Chalice at one AND a Chalice at two shutting down nearly my entire deck. Still stuck on two Mountains he poops out a Duplicant and gets in some beats. When I finally rip the third Mountain I Rack and Ruin the Trinisphere and the Chalice set at two and I pass the turn. He beats with Duplicant one more time and passes the turn. I play a Mountain and pass. He draws a Thirst and before combat attempts to Thirst. In response I PoP him for TWELVE. He says OK and is about to draw when I say still in response PoP for another twelve. He mumbles something and curses PoP.
Life Totals: 16-0, Record: 9-3, 4-1 Overall

Round Six, Game One Opponent: Steve with Phid without the Phids splashing green for SB Oath of Druids
I get to play at the top table again. This time as the eleven seed facing the number two seed. I get him down to three with a Fire/Ice in hand ugh. Morphling beats for the win.
Life Totals: 0-3, Record: 9-4
Round Six, Game Two
He Tinkers out a Darksteel Colossus and I resolve a Big Frac on it. Yet again I draw into mana sources and no burn to steal it.
Life Totals: 0-5, Record: 9-5, 4-2 Overall

Round Seven, Game One Opponent: Crazy Carl Winter with Trinistax
Using the electronic die that Carl uses I win the roll 6 to 4. Sundering Titan hits the board. Sundering Titan hits me.
Life Totals: 0-10, Record: 9-6
Round Seven, Game Two
I side in some Racks and pray I get one. I keep the opening hand of four Mountains, one Gorilla Shaman, and two Rack and Ruin.(I try not to act like a giddy school girl). Knowing that the only non-basic lands I run are Wasteland and Strip Mine, Carl makes a funny face as he looks at his topdeck and plays a Wasteland. His next turn he makes another funny face and drops another Waste. He taps his four lands consisting of three Waste and one Strip to play something and I PoP him for eight. I win soon after with Pillar.
Life Totals: 20-0, Record: 10-6
Round Seven, Game Three
He gets a Darksteel Colossus out and I get a Big Frac on it. Yet again I draw no burn and the Iron Giant beats me again. At this point I was extremely tired and didn't really care since I wasn't making top eight anyway.
Life Totals: 0-10??, Record: 10-7, 4-3 Overall

Random side note: Round three I was sitting diagonally from Brassman and since my match went so quickly I decided to watch. Brassman was playing Hulk Smash and his opponent was play Squirel Craft with Madness and the Survival Engine. His opponent swings with two Hidden Gibbons and three Basking Rootwallas. Brassman blocks one Gibbon with Tog pitching Mystical Tutor and removing several cards in the yard to keep Tog alive. He realizes that this is a mistake and that he just discarded one of his outs. Brassman takes his turn, draws, apologizes to his opponent, and plays a Pernicious Deed. He pops the Deed for one again apologizing to his opponent. Brassman goes on to win the game and the match 2-1.

Props: the co-creators of Burninator; kl0wn for putting up the same prizes despite losing money; Kowal, Carl Winter, Jacob Orlove and Brassman for showing up; Chris Leather for telling me to buy the red sleeves so that when I punch my opponent in the face the blood won't stain them; Chris our driver and he loaned me the Big Fracs; Dan for loaning me some Fire/Ice; and all opponents who were friendly and helped make my first tourney enjoyable

Slops: cold pizza and warm soda from Price Chopper, Endicott for having a horrible road system, and the non-English speaking hotel owners

Good job with Burninator man.  I know the feeling of winning too quickly with the deck... It's all good cause it gives me time to smoke like half a pack between rounds.  Now that I know there was another burninator deck in the field, I don't feel guilty not playing.  I woke up sick as hell, and broke to boot, so I just volunteered my help to kl0wn.  Granted I didn't do much help except provide car to get the pizza, and take out random garbage.

I'm not sure why you played the fire/ices though.  2-1 on welders?

I'm biased though since that's the Guerilla Tactics slot, and anything besides GT sucks balls.

Goddamnit though, why are people playing burninator Sad Now I gotta fear the mirror match.

I playtested against LongDeath (lots of ways to make me discard) and MUD and Control Slavery (which have Memory Jar). In all of the matches against these decks I rarely found myself discarding the Guerrilla Tactics. So I decided to run Fire/Ice to strengthen an already good matchup with Fish and also for the twoferones on Welders.

You don't have to fear the mirror match. I think next tournament I'll run combo.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your SB?
