I started with the flavour text, a quote from the Declaration of Independence and tried to come up with a card ability to match it. It's a strong effect, but it's tempered by a fairly steep requirement to play and  {W} in the mana cost. Also, could a templater reassure me that there isn't too much text here? Now that I look at this though, it may not do a whole lot of anything. A deck like Elfclamp, which puts lots of creatures in its graveyard, probably sees it only as a minor setback that all their creatures get tapped and intends to win that turn anyhow. Maybe this isn't as strong as I thought when I first clicked "submit."

If you lower it to like  {W} and made it "if target player has sacrificed a creature this turn, <effect>", it would be good. As it is, you could use Wrath and this, which is totally against the flavor.

But with the sacrifice wording, it's a combo with Diabolic Edict. Which again is against the flavour.
I suggest: Whenever a player sacrifices a creature as a cost of a spell or ability, he or she chooses another target player. That player may take control of any number of creatures the first player controls.
Basically, your creatures are appalled by (optional) sacrifices, and will leave you to join another player. It's optional to stop you pulling Donate tricks with it.

Laurie, I think that ability may be just a little bit too powerful. How about a card that sort of mirrors the effect of Debt of Loyalty...maybe even a bit stronger than that. The big problem I see with this is if they have something to which they're able to sacrifice creatures at will, this is totally useless. Some of the solutions that come to mind are extremely inelegant. Also, this doesn't care at all whether your opponent is clamping every creature he controls, which is kind of lame. Any suggestions about where to go from here? Rightful Revolution  {W}{W} Instant If an opponent has sacrificed a creature this turn, gain control of target creature that player controls. (For Reference:) Debt of Loyalty  {W}{W} Instant Regenerate target creature. You gain control of that creature if it regenerates this way this turn.
