Because of my lack of testing experience I defer this to the experts here.  What is the rule of thumb for decks with artifact acceleration who also want to run 3 Null rod main deck?  Should activated artifacts in general never outnumber your null rods? FYI I am using only crypt and sol ring because those both let me cast first turn rod.

Thanks for the help.

moxen are better for turn 1 null rod,  because it works just as well without the 3 damage thing.  i would run 4 null rod if you want a turn1 null rod as much as you do.  there is no real rule of thumb because it is heavily dependant on the rest of the deck, it can be anywhere from 0 to 6.  generally i like 1 or 2 moxen plus lotus, but if need be you could increase it.

If you're planning on using Mana Crypt to play turn 1 Null Rod, then you'd better either be playing a deck that can win fast or a deck that can get rid of the Crypt.

I would much rather do land + mox (preferably not Diamond or Chrome), land + Lotus Petal, or Ancient Tomb.
